~Andy's POV~
My headache was gone when I woke up, Emily must've ended our call. I ignored a voicemail from Olivia until I had three cups of coffee and a mess of papers proving I understood the basics of object oriented programming. I tried to apply this to understanding Olivia before I listened to her giggly, condescending voicemail. I sent a few lines of code to Emily for her opinion.

If (OliviaIsntLying)
{
//kick Chris's butt
}
Else
{
//let it go
}

Emily replied immediately with her own code.
IF(OliviaxChris)
{
//dump her
}
ELSE IF (Olivia.EnoughSaid)
{
//dump her
}
ELSE
{
//dump her
}
END IF

~Emily's POV~
When Andy sent me his newest Olivia drama it triggered me. He didn't say why he ended our call last night or acknowledge that we spent the night sleeping next to each other on the phone for the first time ever. It meant everything to me, apparently notsomuch to him.

I shut my phone off and stared at my wallpaper which was a picture of Andy's face with the sunrise smiling at me before the screen went black. I started crying and hurting for him again. It felt like my lungs were caving in on my heart and turning it into a big throbbing pain in my chest, I'm tired of feeling this way but I can't seem to let him go. I spent the day avoiding the internet.

~Andy's POV~
No one has been online all day, nobody's texting tweeting or updating their status. I called to see if Emily wanted to watch the sunset from the roof but she didn't answer. Olivia is really trying to make me think she's got something going on with Chris but he's my bro, he'd never steal my girl. He wants to be a director so if anybody can teach her about lighting it'd be him.

When midnight hit I finished three assignments, a shot of whiskey and two beers. "Sup bruh?" I called Chris, possibly looking to start a fight.

"Living the good life, how about you?" He replied, pretty laid back for somebody hanging out with my girlfriend at midnight.

"Up to my neck in assignments." How do I bring up Olivia?

"I've been storm chasing all summer, managed to sell a few vids to the news and the weather channel, bought some new equipment."

"I'd love to go storm chasing but Olivia would probably kill me." I sighed.

"She's still messing with your head? You're in college man just do that and forget about her. Or you can come edit 900 hours of storm footage with me, I'll pay you to get away from Ollie."

"That wouldn't work." I sighed.

"You need somebody who gets you out of the house. Amelia and I have been chasing storms across the country all summer, she's the love of my life."

"Amelia." My heart stopped when her name was mentioned.

"She's really proud of you Andy. Hold on a sec." "HEY AMEE! COME TALK TO ANDY!" He shouted in the background.

"Dude, we didn't end on good terms." I warned.

"Talk to Amelia, she always knows what to say." He ignored me.

"Hiiiiiii!" A voice I never expected to hear again chimed.

"Uh. Hey. Uh. Amelia." What was I supposed to say to her?

"You sound busy, hold on." "CHRIS! HE SOUNDS BUSY!" She hollered in the background.

"ASK HIM WHAT HE DOES!" Chris hollered back.

"I'm studying the basics of object oriented programming and design." Was all I could think to say.

"BABE HE'S STILL A COMPUTER NERD!" She shouted.

"NERD!" Chris yelled in the background.

"I saw pics of you and Ollie on the school's website, how are the prom king and queen faring in your kingdom?" She asked.

"I DIDN'T VOTE FOR YOU!" Chris yelled in the background.

"We're uh, good I guess? She said she was at Chris's tonight actually." I quietly mentioned.

"BABE! OLIVIA TOLD ANDY THAT SHE WAS HERE!" They started laughing in unison, "She's messing with you. She's sitting at home with all of her textbooks going cross eyed just like you are. She has to be Little Miss Straight A's, top of her class. Don't even bother with her, you can do so much better."

"WAY BETTER!" Chris yelled in the background.

"Forget about her mind games and get out before she sets your house on fire, okay? Bye sweetie, take care! Come on spring break with us!" She hung up and I laughed for a while. I never realized how perfect she was for Chris until that moment.

~Emily's POV~
Ashley has a girlfriend. FML. I caught up on all of my assignments and joined my parents for dinner where they offered me a glass of red wine so I thought, why not! I didn't expect my parents to go out after dinner and leave me at home buzzing on wine so I helped myself to another glass before I sent Andy a videochat request.

"Guess what jerk face." I spat when he answered.

"Who is this and what did you do with Emily?" He replied quizzically.

"This mess with Olivia has to stop."

"I know how you feel; I read your source code." He was too calm to understand me. How can he be so dumb and so smart?

"Listen." I tried and sighed. "It doesn't even matter what I say Andy."

"Shhhh." He shushed me.

"Nuh-uh, you don't get to shush me Andy. I'm so done with this Olivia mess. I'm done Andy, I love you. She's hurting you and it's killing me." Here come the tears. "She's a terrible person."

He was silent for a moment. "Can I speak now?" He asked calmly.

"No! You can't talk until you listen Andy she's horrible. I favorited one of your pictures on social media and she messaged me and said if I didn't leave her fiancé alone she'd have her father expel me from University."

"What?" His tone hardened.

"It was like 2 weeks ago Andy. She's controlling you. Can't you see that?" My voice cracked.

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" He sounded like this was all news to him.

"You told me she was going to break up with you."

"She was."

"Clearly she didn't."

"It's complicated." He sighed.

"It's simple Andy you know she's a horrible person. I've always been here for you each time she broke your heart, lied about being pregnant and made you harm yourself." Oops. I shouldn't have said that.

"What?" He was caught off guard.

"I saw your arm when you were sleeping." I wiped my tears. "Andy I love you." The tears returned. "Why are you with her?" I lost my voice, a couple of moments passed. "You should be with me." I whispered, crying too hard to say anything else.

"I can't be with you Emily." He finally spoke. His voice was odd. "I can't because." He stopped talking suddenly and closed his eyes. "I'm in love with Ollie." He said a moment later with his eyes still closed.

The words brought new tears to my eyes, my chin sinking to my chest.

"We're just friends Emily. I'm not in love with you. I'm sorry. I have to go." Each word was a stab directly into my heart.

Just friends, stab.
Not in love with you, stab.
I'm sorry, stab.
I have to go, stab.

"No, Andy." I pleaded. "Don't go." I started to sob in a way I hadn't cried in years.

He looked into my eyes, "I don't love you Emily." He said.

"NO!" I shouted at him. "You don't mean that!" I knew he didn't mean it.

"Goodbye." He shrugged, shook his head coldly and ended the call.

A loud yelp came out of my mouth and my phone flew across the room. I went to my bedroom and threw the lamp on the floor, tore three posters off the wall, rolled myself into my blanket and lay on the floor crying until I fell asleep.

~Andy's POV~
Today I learned that everybody sees Olivia as somebody that isn't right for me. I made Emily cry again and did what seemed like the best thing to do for her, I let her be free from me.

It's 2 AM and the marks were posted online for the first four assignments. I failed every single one. Nobody is online as I blast music, take pain relievers and chase it with various shots of alcohol. I'm going to lie down with the intention of never seeing another sunrise; I'll have the best sleep of my life.
