You tied the final knot in your mask's ribbon, & let your long onyx hair cascade down around your pale shoulders. You had curled it for the first time in ages, & the loose trendles framed your face (& mask) perfectly. You did a quick "makeup check", making sure your black smokey eye makeup was perfect, you really wanted your near golden eyes to "pop". Then reapplied your (now fading) burgundy lipstick, & looked yourself over in the mirror.
*This is as good as it's going to get, I suppose* You sighed, reajusted your mask & jewlery, strolled out of the girl's bathroom, & headed towards the Ballroom.
The place was absolutely packed, couples were whirling & twirling around you. Groups were gossiping, laughing, & carrying on. You began to feel a bit uncomfortable, & out of place. You hadn't seen anyone you knew yet, so you decided this would be a good time to go outside for a smoke.
