I Was So Bitter, Till You Came Along

Forty-Two

The rest of my birthday party had gone very well. The guys helped us celebrate mine and Andy's engagement as well as my birthday.

The next morning, Andy woke me up to breakfast in bed. I smiled wide at him and he pressed a gentle kiss against my lips.

"You didn't have to, baby," I said as he set the tray down beside me. He climbed onto the bed and watched as I faced the tray.

"Well I wanted to treat my lady. You're carrying my kid and putting up with me somehow, so why not return the favor?" Andy asked, and I laughed.

"Well thank you. This looks so good," I said as I picked up the glass of milk. Andy knew I didn't like orange juice, and that I'm not the biggest fan of apple juice. I took a sip and grinned wide at him.

I ate my breakfast with Andy as we watched tv, and it was honestly the most relaxing thing I'd done for the past however many months.

When I finished, Andy helped me out of bed and took the tray downstairs to clean up. While he was doing that, I headed to the shower to get ready for the day; we were going to find out the gender of the baby.

~~

Andy held my hand tightly as we walked out of the clinic. I had a few pictures of the baby in my bag, and I was dying to tell people that we were having a girl.

"Do you want to make an instagram post?" I asked Andy as we buckled ourselves into the car. He looked over at me as he started the car.

"That sounds like a great idea," he told me, and we headed home.

~~

I was lounging on the couch, Andy's phone in my hand. I'd taken a picture of one of the sonogram photos, and I was working on the description when Andy plopped onto the couch beside me, my phone in his hand.

"Well?" I asked, a smirk on my lips. He'd called the guys and his parents about the news.

"My parents want to meet you before the baby comes, and we need to think of names, " he said. I smiled. I handed his phone to him, showing him what I had already. He read it and grinned, typing a few more things out before handing it back to me for approval. Basically it was just an announcement of the gender of the baby, not anything about the engagement yet. I smiled at it and let him do the honors of posting it. He then turned his phone off and took both mine and his and set them on the coffee table. Andy then pulled me close against him, placing a hand on my belly as I leaned against him.

"I love you, Casey Marie," he said. I grinned.

"I love you too, Andy," I said softly.

Notes
