I Was So Bitter, Till You Came Along
Twenty-One
Five Weeks Later
Andy's POV~~
"Babe!? Casey!?" I called for her from the kitchen, not receiving an answer. I furrowed my brows and retreated to the living room, not seeing her there, so I headed up the stairs. I tried to turn the knob on her bedroom door, but it was locked, so I headed into my room to find the bathroom door locked as well.
"Casey? Is something wrong? Are you okay!?" I asked her. She didn't answer. Didn't even make a noise. That's when my panic levels rose. Oh God. What if she was passed out in there?
"Casey? Casey open the door!" I raised my voice, twisting the doorknob and pushing on the door, hoping it would give way, but unfortunately it didn't. I groaned in frustration and pulled my phone out of my pocket, dialing Ashley.
"Hey man," he said
"Hey. Umm.." I muttered, running my left hand through my hair.
"What's up? You sound worried," Ashley said.
"Cause I am. Casey is locked in the bathroom and she's not answering. I don't know what to do," I told him.
"There's a key for the bathroom. It's hanging on the key rack," he said. The bathroom key! I totally forgot.
"Shit! Thanks. I'll call you later," I told him, and I raced down the stairs to retrieve said key. I sprinted back up the stairs, and I stuck the key in the lock, fumbling with it for a few seconds until the lock clicked, and I pushed the door open, pocketing the key. Casey was slumped against the counter next to the toilet.
"Oh God. Casey? Can you hear me?" I asked her, lifting her head up. Her eyes met mine, and I pulled her into my arms, sighing with relief. She seemed okay.
"What's wrong?" I asked her. She just rested her head against the sink, and closed her eyes.
"Baby?" I asked.
"It's not possible!" She cried, looking at me as her eyes filled with tears.
"What? What's not possible?" I urged her. She just shook her head and lowered it, as if she were ashamed. I looked around the bathroom, my eyes landing on something in the trashcan. I picked it up, and I stared at it in disbelief.
"No, Casey. This-? I don't know..." I trailed off, not knowing how to react. It was definitely impossible. She just cried and shook her head.
"I'm so sorry, Andy!" She wailed, looking up at me as I stood up straight.
"It's not your fault, Casey. It takes two to make a baby," I told her, and I dropped the pregnancy test back in the trashcan, and I washed my hands. I pulled her up off of the floor, and I hugged her close. She wept into my chest while I rested my head upon hers, shutting my eyes, and we swayed back and forth gently while I rubbed her back.
"I'm scared," she whispered. I pulled back to look at her.
"It's gonna be alright," I told her, and she just hugged me tighter than before. I hope that was true.
