BITE

We were somewhere. I loved somewhere. The sky was bright at night and The tree's we were in were always so big. It made me feel small. Which in some odd backwards way was comforting. I giggled laying back on the branch. I closed my eyes. We were truly in the rain forest. But somewhere was what we were when we got up above tree line.
I heard a russel of branches, knowing that it was Andy I stayed still. He would sit in his tree crook and mope until morning when animals were around again. We had been feeding on squirrels and birds and other animals here. I felt bad about the tiger but I still had my half. On larger animals andy would use his good strength to wrestle with them until he broke their necks. On smaller ones I'd catch them with my speed and stealth.
i thought about how Andy is like a cheetah and an elephant. I giggled at the creation I came up with and turned on to my stomach. I opened my eyes expecting to see him sitting in his little tree chair like crook disapproval stuck on his face. Only he was closer than that. So close we were almost nose to nose. I could smell the sweet sent of cigarettes and blood. Like a vampire snd a human combined. My giggles stopped abruptly.
"You shouldn't be able to do that." He said almost monotone.
"do what exactly?" I shouldn't be able to do a lot but I still do. I shouldn't be able to breath but I do. I shouldn't be able to feel things for humanity but I still do.
"imagine or dream." He said softly. His voice sent an unseen shiver down my spine.
"it seems I'm gifted at staying human while being not." I said Smiling.
"Tell me something?" I raised my eyebrows at him "tell me anything please."
i smirked at him and said "the stars are just burning gas balls."
he laughed. "Tell me anything about you." it was a rare occasion in which he smiled.
"me?" He nodded still smiling. I wanted to keep it like that. "Well I was born the day before Christmas in Jamestown Missouri. When I was five we moved to san Diego. And the rest is history." I remembered he had said that all I needed was to remember the big things and I'd be just fine.
"no no no. The deeper stuff. Like your favorite color. Why is your hair like that. How'd you get into bvb. what talent do you have in there." He looked like a kid.
"Galexy purple. No reason just wanted to be different. My brother played knives and pens all the time. I can draw and thats it."
"a brother? I haven't heard of one of those." He mocked me. I wish he didn't but I didn't say that.
"yeah he was five years older than me. He loved you guys a ton. He killed himself when I was ten." the smile slipped from his face and I cursed myself.
i knew what he was going to say. I could feel the sorry about to be said when his lips moved to say something else "what is galaxy purple."
i looked up at him. His bright blue eyes not giving anything away. I almost laughed. "Its sparkly purple only better." I smiled and so did he.
we never talked but this was amazing. We talked all night about our secrets and childhood and everything we could think of. Then when the sun came up we hunted. Not as a necessity but for more time together.
