The Silver Lining

Part 3: *Ashley's POV-the next day* the day after I met with Andy, I arrived back in California to pick up Lily from Jake's house. But when I got there, Jake told me that he left her with CC the night before. "Really?" I asked "Yeah. She just fell asleep last night in front of the TV while watching cartoons." Jake said "So then I came back here and picked up her bag and brought it over so CC could give her a bath and get her ready for bed." I sighed. "Okay. See you later." I said "Bye." Jake replied as he closed the door After I left Jake's house, I drove over to CC's house. When I pulled up to the driveway, I saw Andy (who left early this morning) in the window walking around with his phone dialing. I suddenly became worried and got out of my car in a hurry and ran up to the door. I knocked on the door and waited for someone to open it. Soon, Andy opened the door and said "Hey! Come in." "Is Lily okay?" I asked, walking into CC's house CC looked up at me from the couch as he ran a hand through Lily's hair as she cried. "What happened to her?" I asked "Chicken pox." CC said "Oh my God! I gotta get her home so she can rest." I said "Why do you think I have her here on the couch?! She just got them this morning!" CC replied "Where did she get it?" I asked "I bet it was some kid on the beach yesterday." CC said "I should really take her home." I said Andy and CC moved toward me to get me to move back. "What?" I asked "This stuff is contagious." CC said "I know. But-" I tried to say "But nothing. If you take Lily home, you could get chicken pox too. And you can't afford to be sick with our schedule." Andy said "What about you guys?" I asked "We've already been through it." CC said "I had it in the third grade." "And I was 14." Andy said I sighed and said "Okay." Then, I waved goodbye to Lily who was confused at me leaving. "Why are you leaving, Daddy?" she asked "You're sick, sweetie." I explained "and if I take you home with me, I might get sick too." Soon, she looked up at CC and asked "Why?" "Because we have a tour coming up soon, Lily." CC said "So you and Andy are going to take care of me until I feel better?" Lily asked "Yeah. It's going to be okay. I know having chicken pox isn't fun." Andy said "No." Lily said, shaking her head I was relieved that my daughter would be in good hands. So, I slowly stepped out as Andy began to follow me. "What's going on, man?" I asked "I'm going shopping to get a few things for my baby." Andy said "Cool. Did that bouncer seat you ordered off of amazon come in yet?" I asked "I totally forgot about that." Andy said as he got into his car "I'll stop by the post office on the way. Hopefully, those idiots didn't send it to my old address." *Andy's POV* Later after I left the post office with the bouncy chair I ordered online for little Tuesday, I went to a children's store to buy more things for her nursery as well as other things she might like. I had already set up her cradle in my room (what used to be CC's guestroom) I just needed a new playpen for her since Juliet destroyed the other one as well as some bottles, diapers and some bath supplies. Everything else I already had. Before I left for Nevada, Jinxx gave me his gift that he forgot. He never wrapped it. Just handed it to me when we were at the studio. It was a pink panda. I already had this toy sitting in the cradle waiting for little Tuesday. As I left the store, I got an urgent text from CC. "Andy, you gotta come home quickly! She's throwing up! We need to get her to the hospital!" it read I was trying to stay calm as I typed out my reply. "Stay calm. Just try to clean her up and I'll be there in a minute." After I got back to the house, I found CC holding Lily and walking around with her as she was crying. "Thank God! She's been like this ever since after I got her out of the bath." CC said "Why isn't Lily dressed?" I asked, noticing the towel and lack of clothing "She began to itch. What was I supposed to do?" CC replied as he tried to comfort Lily "Try to put something on it." I said "I tried." CC said "But she didn't like it. Then, she got sick." "Alright." I said "I'll dress her and we'll go to the hospital." Later at the hospital, I stood outside the exam room as CC stayed with Lily. Soon, Ashley walked up to the exam room door with a nurse in Looney Tunes scrubs. "What happened to my baby?!" he asked "Is she okay?" "She's sick. But don't worry, we're going to take care of her." I said "I knew I should have stayed home with Lily." Ashley said "Hey. It's okay. She's going to be fine." I reassured as Ashley began to cry on my shoulder "I just want to be there for her." Ashley said "And you are there, Ash." I said "You just need to let us take care of her so you don't get sick." Ashley sighed and dried his tears. This had been the first time he had been away from his little girl ever. In a way, I felt sorry for him. But in another, I was also worried because what if someday, that was me on the recieving end of being comforted because something happened to Tuesday?
