Welcome To My Life

The Return Of Poppy

Sylvie typed away at her desk, sighing to herself. She was so bored and the sound of camera's shuttering behind her pissed her off even more.

Her background on her computer was now Andy and her. Best friends forever and hopefully something more one day.

She was trying so hard to save the friendship. It had been a whole month since they met and Andy pushed for more everyday. She wanted to get to know him, memorize what he was like and so she promised him that one day there would be more but now she wanted to keep it as friends.

She didn't want to lead him on but she was still wounded from her last relationship. She needed time to make sure Andy was perfect for her and though it seemed so, she never knew.
She picked up her phone up and giggled seeing Andy had texted her, a few selfies and four texts.

The first one was of him, that perfect pout on his lips. The next three were all silly and they made her smile.

Andy: I need someone to cuddle with :*

Andy: Quit your job.

Andy: Come live with me forever!

Andy: I'm coming to see you.

A new message came in just then.

Andy: Look up :P

Sylvie glanced up to see Andy standing there, a stupid grin on his face. "Andy! I'm at work, you can't just do this." She giggled, looking around before standing up and pulling him into a tight hug.

"Too bad, I already did it." He giggled. "I haven't seen you in a week!"

"Well, you're seeing me now." She giggled, kissing him softly.

"The record releases in like two weeks." He mumbled, burying his face in her hair. "I'm nervous."

"Babe, you know it's going to do well." She laughed, brushing his hair back.

"I hope so." He smiled. "So can I take you to lunch?"

"I promised Aaron." She frowned. "But I'll see you soon?"

"Okay." He grinned, kissing her once before walking away. She sighed and rested her chin on her hand.

How did someone even look like him!?

Sylvie walked through the small park, her camera in her hand. She sat down by the lake, smiling as a dragonfly zoomed past her ear. It had been a stressful day at work and all she wanted was to take pictures and forget.

Her camera shuttered for hours, taking photographs of everything Sylvie found interesting. This was her therapy, her drug. Something about hitting that review button and seeing a piece of life on her screen made her smile. It was all she wanted to do and all she ever would.

She would never forget Poppy and her's plan. They would create a magazine where Poppy would write articles and Sylvie would shoot photos for them. It was going to be called "PopVie" and the girls would be famous. Of course, this was when they were in third grade and they didn't know how hard it would be to reach the careers they wanted but they remained hopeful.

Who knows, maybe "PopVie" would reach the public one day..

Soon enough the sun began to set and Sylvie stood up, taking pictures of the amazing, orange and gold sky. She loved sunsets- the colors always made her misty and she wondered why the sun ever had to leave. Why couldn't they live in light all the time?

"Thinking poetically again, Sylvie Wilvie?" She heard from behind her and just about dropped her camera as she saw none other than Poppy Meyer standing behind her.

"Poppy!" She shrieked, jumping in her best friends arms. She stumbled back, grinning at Sylvie's excitement. "I missed you so much!"

"I missed you too." Poppy smiled, holding Sylvie at arms length. "You look great, S."

"Thanks girl, your hair is so great!" Sylvie said, her smile was so wide that she thought her face would fall off. "Why are you here?"

"I found a job here as a writer for Rock Sound magazine." She grinned.

"That's amazing Pop! I'm so happy for you!" Sylvie said, linking their arms. They walked back around downtown LA, talking over everything that the other had missed for hours.

Poppy loved the idea of Andy and Sylvie. She needed someone to lean on and it sounded like this guy was great.

Once they arrived back home Poppy laughed her ass off, seeing a sleeping boy outside of the apartment. It was Andy, of course, and he had obviously been waiting for her.

"Is this him?! Oh my god.." Poppy bit back her laughter as Sylvie shot her a glare.

"Shut up!" She bent down and shook Andy's shoulder lightly. His eyes fluttered open and he let out a happy sigh before pulling her into a hug. She laughed. "What's wrong?"

"Aaron didn't answer the door and you didn't answer the phone! I thought something was wrong!" He grinned, kissing her cheek.

"I was with Poppy!" Sylvie exclaimed, standing up and pulling him with her. "She's in LA to stay!" She said, feeling Andy wrap an arm around her waist.

"That's great!" He exclaimed. "I'm Andy." He extended his hand out to shake the black and blonde haired girls hand. Her eyes were an absolutely striking blue, almost nearing his.

"Nice to meet you, lover boy." Poppy jested. Andy only rolled his eyes.

"Well, I should get out of here.." He mumbled, pulling away from Sylvie.

"You don't have too, Andy." She chuckled. "Come inside!"

He watched with a smirk on his face as she opened the door. The three walked inside, expecting Aaron to be there but he was gone. Again.

"Where is our very own Damien of Mean Girls?" Poppy chuckled, looking around at the pink and black themed apartment. Obviously it was Aaron's doing since Sylvie wouldn't wear pink if Reginia George possessed her.

"Probably out with his boyfriend." Sylvie chuckled, placing her purse on the hook by the door.
"You guys want anything to eat? Drink?"

"I ate back at my hotel." Poppy said. "But a beer is welcome."

Sylvie laughed, "We don't have any, Pop. Aaron and I are both under age."

"Shit." She groaned, falling down on the couch. Andy laughed at her and then pulled Sylvie against his body. His breath tickled her ear as he trailed a few kisses down her neck.

"I was hoping to spend some time alone with you.." He frowned. "I really miss you."

"I miss you, too." She mumbled, turning so their noses brushed together. "But I need to hang out with Poppy. I haven't seen her in weeks." She moved and clasped their hands together.
"Let's all watch a movie or something."

He sighed, his eyes getting lost in her's. They were filled with so many layers, lines, and even a few different colors that his mouth hung open as he stared at them. He'd never noticed how intricate they were and he felt like he was looking into a home. A home he would never sell or move out of.

But now wasn't the time.

"Why don't you just hang out with her, Sylv? I'll see you soon." He said, kissing her temple and pulling back.

"Oh.." She frowned. "That's fine." He grinned before sauntering out of her apartment and running down the stairs. He wanted her to have a good time and that wouldn't have happened if they were cuddling the whole time.

You know what they say, no one cuddles better than your best friend.
