Save Me From Myself

Today was the day of our graduation.As always,I sat next to my bestie Mitch.I was very nervous. There were a bunch of people and every student who graduated had to do a speech.I hated talking in front of so many people.
"What's up Ally?" Mitch's voice brought me back to reality. "Nothing Mitchy.I'm just freakin nervous."

"ALYSSA SMITH ON THE STAGE PLEASE." It was my turn.Oh no. I gave Mitch a weak smile and went to stage. My class teacher congratulated me as she handed me my certificate.The head teacher congratulated me as well.He handed me the microphone.I took a deep breath and spoke.
"First and foremost I wanted to thank my best friend Mitch who went through all of these years and who stood up for me when no one else did.I also want to thank my parents.Without you this wouldn't have been possible.And of course everyone else I forgot." My smile grew wide as I saw Mitch cheering. This could have been worse.

"CONGRATS ALLY!!!!" Mitch shouted with a huge grin on his face. "YOU TOO MITCHY!!!" I shouted back and pulled my bestie into a huge hug. "What will you do after that?" he asked. "Studies I think.You?" "Follow my dream." he said. I smiled and answered "You'll make it.I believe in you." "Thank you Ally.But promise you'll stay in touch with me." "Big promise Mitchy." We hugged again and then went in different directions.

I didn't know that we won't keep in touch then.That was 6 years ago.
