Before The Angels Fell

Andys POV

3 weeks and 5 days into Warped Tour and we were only half way.
Warped Tour was always fun, but it seemed to be dragging on. And as soon as we were one here, we were set to be the supporting act for Asking Alexandria in The UK. They were also on Warped Tour with us, so they were sharing my pain.
"Why do you keep staring at your phone?" Danny asked with his English accent.
"Oh, it's my girlfriend Riley. I really miss her..."
"Girlfriend? This is the first I've heard of this! I thought it was all rumours."
"Nahh, she's real. She's so amazing, gorgeously sexy, she looks after me, she drinks, she likes the occasional smoke, she's awesome!" I beamed and felt a smile spread across my face.
"Man, you're so whipped!" Danny said and lightly punched my arm.
"Am not!"
"Dude, it's been like 3 weeks. And we still have another month to go. She's not your world. Trust me, the bitch will back stab you the moment you're gone" Danny said bitterly.
I frowned and contemplated his words. Would Riley really stab me in the back?
"Give me a sec" I said, quickly getting up and stumbling out of the bus to get outside.
I pulled up her contact and called her.
"Hello" said the voice that made me melt.
"Hey baby, how's things?" I said casually.
"Andy! Oh my God, I miss you so much! I'm actually at work at the moment. Trying to find a band for this weekend" she mused.
"Fun. I miss you Jamie..."
"Aww, Andy, you're gonna make me miss you more. Your house feels so empty without you there."
"I'll be home soon. I promise."
"Okay. Well I better go, plenty of work to do. I love you."
"Love you too babe" I said then hung up.
I pulled out my smokes and lit one. Huffing in the fumes always relaxed me.
"You 'right mate?" Danny asked, coming out of the bus.
"Yeah, just stressed. It's weird being away from Riley. The last time I was away from her she went a little crazy and wound up in hospital..."
"Andy... That's a red flag. She sounds a little bit psycho if you ask me" he said pulling out his own smokes.
"She's really not. She explained the situation. She gets anxiety and she felt that I left and that's when she overdosed. That won't happen this time. She gets it. She's busy too anyways! She owns a bar in LA and has bands and shit. It's actually pretty cool. We've been customers for years."
"Andy, we've been friends for a while now, so I have to be honest with you. You guys are toxic. From everything you have told me over the last few weeks about her, it just doesn't seem to fit. This is going to end badly my friend" he said taking another drag of his smoke.
"It won't. If you got the chance to meet her, you'd understand."
"Come out with us tonight. Remind you of the night life we used to have. You were a crazy one. I miss the party boy I know and love. He's in there somewhere" he said pointing his cigarette at me.
"I don't know... "
"Come on Andy, loosen up."
"I guess one night of drinking won't hurt. I'm sure Ashley will want to come."

I sat at the bar while I watched Danny and Ashley get drunk. They had girls circled around them, begging for their attention.
I wanted to stay out of it, but fuck it looked fun. To have the attention of women and be cared about or wanted I should say. I hadn't seen Riley in so long... I wasn't sure if it was her that I missed though...
"Hi. You look lonely" a voice said beside me.
I looked up from my drink and found the source of the voice.
A girl. A beautiful girl. Long black hair, a seductive smile on her face. God I missed that smile.
"I am, my friends are on the dancefloor" I slurred.
"Well maybe I can keep you company for a bit. Buy me a drink?" She asked me.
"S-ssure, hey, w-wwhat was your name?" I tried to say.
"Piper, yours?" she asked.
I took a breath in to speak, but my name didn't come out.
"James" I said, letting Riley's name substitute for my own.
"Well James, doing much else tonight?"
"Umm, not really. Drinking the pain away" I said, downing the rest of my drink then ordering us both one.
"Why are you in pain?" She asked curiously.
"Yeah, why are you in pain?" Said another voice that always seemed to ruin these moments.
I sighed and turned towards Ashley. "I not, now go away!"
"Don't fucking act like a dick. What the fuck are you doing?!" He said pulling me away from the bar. "I'm sorry, he has a girlfriend. He's just drunk" Ashley said smoothly.
I started to get further and further away from the bar, when I realised Ashley was the one pulling me away.
The warm Summer air hit me when we crossed the threshold to the outdoors.
"What the fuck were you doing?!" Ashley yelled.
"I don't know..."
"Is Riley anything to you?!" He continued.
I just shrugged.

Ashleys POV

I couldn't believe what was happening.
Andy was literally lying to my face about Riley and taking it as no big deal. Like he cheated on her all the time. What kind of man does that?!
I mean, I'm a man whore and all, but I'm not hurting anyone.
And sweet, innocent Riley is at home, working her ass off, believing her boyfriend loves and misses her.
I think I missed her more than Andy did right now, which is sad and weird for me.
She doesn't deserve any of this...
