Jake’s Pov
How does it feel to be their adoptive father? Not much different really. Was I protective as all h*ll? Yes. Would I kill Ashley if he did something to them? H*ll yes. We all know how he is. He also told me when he was super drunk that he liked Dakota. He’d have one shot. If he blew it not only would he have to face me, he’d have to face the girls and I’m sure they’d kill him.
“CC! Where the h*ll is my war paint?” Jade was in the doorway with her arms crossed.
He held his hands up in surrender, “How do you know it was me?”
“Do you have it?”
“No.” He was biting his cheek and picking at his finger nails.
She raised an eyebrow and they rest of us were snickering. “CC your lying. Where is my warpaint? Tell me now or I will sic Sam and I on you in a very fun prankish way.” He paled and threw the paint at her.
“There! Happy?” She nodded and spun on her heels walking back to the bathroom.
Sam smirked deviously and looked at CC at which he paled a bit. She got up before CC could say anything and skipped to the bathroom.
Sam’s Pov
I quickly shut the door after Jade yanked me in and got out my prank kit. Food dye. Perfect. I grabbed CC’s shampoo and mixed in some pink dye in it.
Jade smirked, “Revenge is sweet.”
I laughed, “Just wait until Warped Tour. We’re going to have a freaken blast pranking everyone.”
“Ain’t that the d*mn truth.” We put purple dye in Jinxx’s shampoo and put a red dye tablet in the shower head. Then we took a air freshener only it didn’t smell so fresh. We stuck behind the toilet. We took a fake “spider” and put it on CC’s pillow and the a fake twenty on Andy’s pillow. Next was Dakota’s prank.
They had all gone out so we took a fake “arm” and made it as realistic as possible putting it on a dish. We popped it into the fridge. Then we took a bucket of ice water and propped it up on the rec room door. We sent a text to the boys telling them not to go into the rec room. They agreed and now we just had to wait. Dakota’s Pov
We went back to the bus after another awesome show and I needed to wind down. “Hey Ashley?”
He was sitting on the couch on his phone. “Yeah Kota?”
“Come down to the rec room with me.” He got up and I pushed the door to the room open only to get drenched in freezing cold water. I knew exactly why Jade and Sam would do this. I pranked them one year and they vowed to get back at me.
Ashley got out of my way as I stormed upstairs. Jade cracked up and so did Sam. “You two are dead f*cking meat! I will tolerate any prank but not this one! Gah.” I was going to kill them. “Your lucky I’m not wearing my leather jacket. Plus ya’ll know it get on my nerves when I get wet.”
Andy threw me a few towels to which I greatly appreciated. I dried off and changed then went back to the rec room with Ashley. I grabbed my acoustic guitar and we sang In The End together. When I looked at him I could feel the heat rush up to my cheeks. He noticed and smiled.
“That was fun Ash, thanks.”
“No problem, it was fun. I was wondering if you’d want to go somewhere with me this weekend.” Did I imagine him saying that? Keep calm Kota.
“Y-yeah.” I instantly blushed. “That would be awesome Ash.” I can’t wait for this weekend to come now.
We wrote a few songs together and I finally got tired. I must have fell asleep because when I woke up I was in Ashley’s bunk to the wonderful scent of breakfast. I hopped out quietly to see a smirking Jade.
“If he did a thi-“ I cut her off with a playful glare.
“Jade he wouldn’t do anything and I hope you know that. Plus I’d beat his a** if he tried a single d*mn thing.” She just continued smirking.
“I know.” I rolled my eyes and quickly grabbed 2 waffles and some bacon. I downed it in minutes. I went to the bathroom and took a shower. I had their song Savior playing softly. I mainly cut when in the shower so I play the song when ever I can. I guess when I hear it have that feeling of I’m letting them down and I don’t want to do that.
I got out and got dressed. I put on my fitted Metalica shirt with black ripped skinny jeans and headed out. I pulled on my hoodie and threaded my earbuds through the hole on the inside of the pocket. I put on Christina Perri’s song The Lonely and walked around the bus.
I grabbed my acoustic guitar and sat down on the couch in the rec room. I started to play along and sing with her. I was lost in the lyrics., the beats, and chords. The song ended and someone touched my shoulder causing me to jump fifteen feet in air. I turned and saw Ashley smiling brightly.
I took out the right earbud and playfully glared at him. “B*tch! Give a heart attack why don’t you!” All he did was laugh and popped my earbud into his ear.
“Christina Perri?” I nodded and his smile widened.
“I take it by the fact that you have almost all her songs your a big fan?” I felt my cheeks redden.
“Yeah.” He winked at me to which I narrowed my eyes.
“You know…I know her personally. I can get you back stages passes, front seat concert tickets, anything.”
I jump up, my eyes were wide with hope. “You could?”
“Yep.”
I threw my arms around him. “Oh my god Ashley that would be awesome! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
“In fact you know how I’m going to take you somewhere Friday?” I nod. “I already talked to Perri and we’re going to her concert.”
Ashley’s Pov
I’ve been waiting to talk to Dakota alone. I had pulled Jade aside and asked her what Kota’s favorite singer was. She told me it was Christina Perri. Thank god too! I was and still am good friends with her when we were little so I knew the perfect place to take her this weekend now.
I flipped out my phone and scrolled through my texts. Andy, CC … Christina. I tapped her name and quickly sent her a text. Twenty minutes later things were set up. Two hours later I fell asleep with Hello Kitty on.
Andy’s Pov
“Sammantha! Jadelyn! You are DEAD!” The moment we saw CC come out of the shower we burst into laughter. Pink hair! I snapped a picture or six and instantly posted them to Facebook and Twitter.
Sam and Jade stood up defensively. Sam smirked deviously. “CC call me Sammantha and say Jade’s full name again and you. Are. Dead. We clear on that Christian?”
He gulped and laughed nervously, “Perfectly clear Pitts.” Jake laughed at that while Ash and I smirked.
Dakota was behind him and tapped him making him jump, “Keep laughing ya pink haired freak, it’s only just began.”
He picked her up and put her in between Sam and Jade. Then he slowly backed up and after a few seconds he dashed outside.
I smirked, “He’ll be back drunk as all h*ll. I bet twenty dollars on it.” I slapped down a twenty on the table.
The girls put down thirty each. Jade looked at me. “We think he will too.”
Jake, Ashley, and Jinxx however thought he would come home drunk and with a girl. they each put down thirty.
I stood up and moved to walked over to the girls. “Here’s how it goes the losers pay the winners the total each. So if we when they have have to pay us each. So we get triple the money.”
Jake looked at me with a bewildered look. “How’s that fair.”
I shook my head, “It isn’t. It just raises the stakes.”
“And what if we don’t have the money on us?”
I smiled thinking for a few minutes but Dakota came up with an idea. “Who ever the loser hasn’t paid has to become his or her assistant for two weeks.”
We agreed and I put the bet money in a jar. Jade popped in Insidious and we waited for CC to come back.
Jade’s Pov
I stayed up waiting for CC. It was just me and my thoughts, which are a dangerous place for me to be right now. My world is a sick, twisted, evil world. I was not stable at times and this was one of those times. I was a confused mess. All this because of love. D*mn it all!
I could have prevented Dakota from having to go through half the bull sh*t she has went through by talking her into going to another family member. A distant cousin, aunt, or grandparents but no, she stayed with me. I’m a cancer. Pain is inflicted into all those who have entered my life for too long. Jake know that first hand.
“Jacob Hathaway. I loved you more than life. Why did you leave me?” I really did love him more than my life. He taught me love. He showed me what true love was like. He made me realize that I can’t shut it out. He showed me happiness. He let me know it was okay to let someone into my world. He shed light into the deepest darkest corners in my mind and accepted them. He picked up all the broken pieces left by my father. He was there for me and never judged me at all. I loved him with all I had and he died because of it. It was all my fault.
I glanced over to my bag and knew where it was. My cold friend. The one that both protected me and hurt me. I grabbed my switchblade and went into the bathroom. When I was done I bandaged my wrists and thigh. I put concealer on my left my wrist (on the bandage of course) and sat on the couch.
CC came in two hours later dunk but without a sl*tty b*tch. Money please? I helped him to his bunk and then fell asleep on the couch.
