You Were Always Mine

Chapter 6

*three days earlier.*
Ashley stumbled out of his hotel room, rubbing his eyes as he sought out the source of the commotion.
Andy ran directly past him before noticing him and skidding to a halt. Andy looked around at Ashley, wildness in his eyes. "Ash! Have you seen Jinxx anywhere? He's not in his hotel room!" Andy was speaking fast and breathlessly.
"No," It was too early for this sh*t. "He's probably just sightseeing." He grumbled.
"He didn't leave a note or anything and we're leaving in an hour!" Andy was clearly panicked.
"Andrew!" Ashley barked, snapping him out of it. "He's a big boy, he can care for himself! Try calling him. I'm going to pack." With that, Ashley turned back into his hotel room.
There wasn't much to pack, just the clothes from last night's concert and his toothbrush.
With a sigh, he wriggled into some black jeans and a Jack Daniels t-shirt. He pulled on his ankle boots and grabbed his hat and bag.
Andy was still searching frantically. Ashley made his way downstairs out to where the bus was parked and threw his bag on his bunk. On his return inside he smiled sweetly at the sour looking receptionist.
"Hi, listen you don't just so happen to have seen this man?"
"No." she she said boredly without looking up from her nails that she was painting.
"Okay then...." the muttered, checking the time. This was unlike Jinxx.

*Present*
The sender girl slipped into the room, her flaming hair lighting up her face.
Jinxx shrunk back against the wall.
"What do you want?" He breathed, his voice cracking.
"I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner." She said in a low voice. "I bought food and water." She sat beside him and passed over a plastic cup of water.
He looked at it warily before taking a tentative sip. After the first sip he downed the whole glass and wordlessly held it out for another. She refilled it for him.
"Careful, you'll be sick." She warned softly.
He nodded and slowed.
"Thank you." he croaked.
"Do not waste words of kindness on me." she whispered with a sad smile, handing him some bread.
He accepted it and sat in an impish position, his knees tucked into his chest.
She sat feeding him carefully.
"I have to go before my brother finds me. I will come again tomorrow." she said before fleeing the room.
Bolting the door shut behind her, she turned to her brother.
"Well?" He snapped.
"We can start stage 2 earlier. We will begin next week. In the meantime, how are his friends coping?"
