You Were Always Mine
Chapter 16
Gerard studied the gold band, the magnifiers over his eyes making them seem huge.
"Did you find anything?" Andy asked for the 5th time.
"Yes." Gerard replied flatly, absently reaching for a cotton swab.
"What!?" Andy lept up. 2 weeks with no breakthroughs.
"Blood. It's possible he scratched his attacker and some went on his ring. I'll get a DNA analysis." He assured.
"You're genius!" Andy breathed and roped Gerard into a hug.
"I know." Gerard sassed, putting the swab into a sealed vial and securing it in an evidence bag before signing it.
"Still nothing on the shooter?" Andy asked, glancing at the photo of Gerard kissing the cheek of a pretty, goth boy
"Nothing," Gerard responded, folding the photo against the desk so the image was hidden. "We found the car about a mile from an abandoned sub tunnel though, so we have officers canvasing the area."
"Good." Andy nodded and left the room in search of a coffee machine.
