Finding Grace

Andys POV

Fuck me.
I watched from the street as her cab disappeared around the corner.
I hadn't meant that.
I blew my breath out, and then slowly turned, trudging back into the apartment.
"What did you do?" Ashley asked immediately, and I glanced at his judgemental face as I stepped to the bar. I started to pour myself a drink, then just vetoed the glass and chugged straight from the bottle.
"I didn't do anything!" I muttered, turning to look at the guys. "I just told her I Don't want her working the video."
"When has it ever done you any good to tell her what to do?" Jake asked me in an exasperated tone."Man, you gotta pick your battles."
I scowled. "I don't want her working with Jaime! He's a fucking perv."
"Did you tell her that?"
"No," I shifted my weight. "I don't wanna freak her out."
"Trust me, Leah can take care of herself," CC told me from his position in the floor. "Have you been to any of those karate classes or whatever its called she and Vale have been going to? She's lethal. I'm officially threatened by them."
"Anyone would be threatened by Medusa," Ashley muttered, and CC threw an empty can at him. I chuckled slightly, and sat on the edge of the coffee table.
Ashley and Vale still locked horns whenever they were around each other, and it was best if everyone else just left it be. He still wasn't over the harsh comment she'd made about his shampoo.
"You should probably say something to Leah about Jaime," Jinxx told me, rubbing his jaw. "Otherwise she'll just stayed pissed at you thinking you're an asshole."
I felt like an asshole. I sighed, rubbing my face. "I just wanna keep her safe! She's too trusting. It's like trying to keep a ant from being stepped on."
"Just sayin, I wouldn't compare her to an ant in front of her," Ashley chuckled. "She might be small, but I've heard her wring necks by just talking. And when she switches to Russian --- scary."
"You should hear it in French," I muttered. The guys Suddenly grinned.
"I've heard french once from her, when you guys were holed up in the bus bathroom," Ashley sent me a wink. "I had to go take a cold shower afterward."
I grinned slightly at the memory. That had been a good time. I cleared my throat, and took another swig before my thoughts got ahead of myself.
"You gonna call her?"
"Nah, she wouldn't answer," I shook my head. "I'll just pick her up from the set tomorrow, she'll have to talk to me then. She hates making scenes."
"But she has no problem yelling at you in private, man, so best behavior," Jake the All-Knowing warned me. "I don't want Ella calling me bitching because she talked to Leah and then they're both pissed at you and I have to be too."
"Yeah, you should never introduce your women," Ashley told them. "They can turn it back on you in a flash like a wild pack of dogs."
"Says the guy dating Leahs secretary," Jinxx remarked dryly. "She's not a secretary," Ashley corrected. "She's a receptionist. There's a difference. Plus she's not met your women."
"But she knows Vale and Leah," CC reminded him. "The one time we got in a fight, and I went up to see her at the studio, Morgan looked like she was going to hit me with her keyboard."
"That's how she looks at everyone."
"Ash!"
Ashley laughed. "I'm serious! She has this new theory that if she looks less friendly then people won't bother her as much."
"Tell her it works," CC shook his head. "She doesn't need karate, she's scary enough."
"Tell me about it. You should meet her cat. He's a hell spawn."
Leah had wanted to get a cat, I suddenly remembered. Maybe I could get her one and she would forgive me.
Or train it to assassinate me in my sleep.
Yeah, no cat for Leah.
Just apologies from me.
I finished off my bottle.
