My Midnight Stalker

Vampires aren't real

Ava's POV

It was a long 6 hours at work. I couldn't get my mind off of Andy. I missed the way he used to hold me at night. Midnight finally came and it was time to walk home. In the dark. All alone.

Stop it! I slapped myself across the face. I grabbed my purse and ran out of the bar. The cold air hit my face when I opened the door. I buttoned up my coat and started my walk home. My heels clicked on the sidewalk, making a loud noise in the quiet environment. Along With my heavy breathing, someone could hear me a mile away. I quickened my pace. A twig snapped behind me and I whirled around.

"Who's there?" I took out my knife and held it in front of me. It was quiet. "Who's there!" I said louder.

"It's just me, Ashley." He stepped out to where I could see him. I put my knife down and ran up to him, giving him a hug.
"What are you doing out here?" I let go of him and he started to pull me down the sidewalk.

"Nothing really. Just walking." He pulled me faster and I didn't resist. It was chilly and creepy outside.

"At midnight?" I laughed and we walked faster, no words needed.

"You can put your knife back." I looked down at my hand to find the knife still clutched in it. I put it back in my boot. We arrived at my house with two cars parked outside. One was Layla's and the other was an Impala 67.... I didn't know who's it was. Ashley muttered something under his breath. I ran up to the house and unlocked the door. What If Layla was hurt?

I opened the door and Layla was anything but hurt. There were two guys sitting on the couch with her. They were all drinking beer and watching tv. "Ummm... Who are you?" I asked. Layla turned the tv off and took their beers away.

"I was drinking that!" Yelled a man in a plaid shirt. The other guy stood up and walked over to his laptop. He was tall and had longer hair than the other guy. Layla came back in and froze.

"Ashley, what are you doing here? We're about to have a private talk, something that you don't need to be in here for." Layla said, the two guys turning their heads.

"I think I can contribute to the discussion." Layla gasped and one of the guys took out a knife. I turned around and screamed. Ashley had fangs. Not the fake ones. It looked like his real teeth. The guy with the plaid shirt walked over to Ashley with a knife.

"Dean, stop!" Layla ran over to the man in plaid, Dean, and pushed him.

"He's a vampire!" Dean said.

"That doesn't mean I'm blood thirsty like my relatives." Ashley said, stepping closer to Dean. "And if I remember correctly, you were working with a demon. Ruby? Yes, that was it. And she did help you didn't she. Just like I could help you. She was nice and so am I. So you can't judge us all by our ancestors."

I was stunned. I stepped away from Ashley, away from Dean. Demons and Vampires. I felt sick to the stomach. "Ava." I turned around and the tall guy called me over. I slowly walked over to him. Vampires aren't real. Vampires aren't real. "My name's Sam. I'm Dean's younger brother and we're here to help you get your boyfriend back."

My face lit up. "Really?" I asked, hopeful. I smiled brighter than I ever did before. I was going to get Andy back. I forgot all about the vampires.

Sam took his laptop into the living room and I followed him. I took a seat on the couch across from Sam and Dean, and next to Layla. Dean was glaring at Ashley who was sitting next to Layla. "Ava, we're going to tell you something. It might be hard to understand." Layla said.

I was confused. Did it have something to do with Andy?

"Let me come right out and say it. I'm a vampire." I started laughing after Ashley said that.

"And you're a witch!" I laughed, pointing at Layla. None of them were laughing. "You can't be serious." I said a little more nervous. They had straight faces, not a slight smile.,

"They're all real. Dean and I are hunters. We hunt these creatures to save people like you."

"They can't be real. My parents never told me about this. Nobody believes in this stuff. You guys are crazy." I stood up to leave the room. "Are you guys drunk?" I asked.

"That's because they didn't know about them. Many people don't know about the supernatural. But know you're going to learn so we can get your boyfriend back." I sat back down.

Could learning about the supernatural help me get Andy back? Did I really want to find out about the creatures lurking in the dark? Was it really worth it or would it be a waste of my time? I sat there just contemplating about the supernatural.
