My Midnight Stalker

3 days earlier....

Ava's POV
I talked to my manager and he dismissed me from work. I poured this one guy one last shot of vodka before grabbing my purse and heading out. I felt eyes looking at my short booty shorts that showed off my ass. I didn't like my outfit for work, but when you're desperate for money you do anything. I stepped out of the bar into the cold night. The moon was casting a little light. It was an erie look.

I walked down the dark street to my apartment a couple blocks away. Then a shiver went down my spine. Like someone was watching me. It was like the same sensation I felt a couple weeks ago. I thought I was just imagining it. I quickly turned around, but saw nothing. I continued to walk, quicking my pace. The feeling was still there. I couldn't shake it off. Someone was watching me. I could feel it. I turned around again and thought I saw a yellow eye gleaming in the dark.

I was almost jogging now. The temperature was dropping and I shivered even more. Then I could feel it. Something was breathing on my neck. I didn't turn around. I was too scared to find what was behind me. Instead I ran away from the creature behind me. I ran like there was a Hellhound behind me. I got to my apartment and fumbled for my keys. "Ava..." I froze after the raspy voice drew out my name. "Come with me..." It said again.

"Yeah... I'd rather not." I quickly grabbed my knife from my stripper boots and swung behind me, hitting air. "W-What? I-I don't understand." My breath was taken away from me at that moment. There was nothing behind me. Just plain old air. I picked up my keys from the ground and unlocked my door
with shaky hands. I dropped my stuff on the floor after locking the door. The tv was on and I curled up next to my loving boyfriend. My hands were still shaking.

"Hey, sweetie. You're home kinda late. What took you so long?" He stroked my hair and I entwined our hands together, afraid to let go.

"Nothing." I lied. He would never understand what I just witnessed. "Batman again?" I asked, looking at the tv screen.

"Got a problem with that?" He asked teasingly. I shook my head and laid my head on his lap. He wrapped his arm around me and I fell asleep, knowing I would be safe in the morning.
