Our Family

When my dad and I get home, I run upstairs and do my homework as quickly as possible. I don't get it all done before my uncles show up, but who cares? It's homework. I run downstairs and hug my uncle Ashley, uncle CC, uncle Jake, and uncle Jinxx.

"Biersack, your girl's really growing up." Ashley points out.

"Not my daughter Ash, anyone but my daughter." My dad says from the kitchen.

"Come on Ash, she's a kid." Jake says.

"I'm not a kid anymore uncle Jakey." I say.

"She's a fine young woman." Ash says and Jinxx slaps the back of his head. I giggle and we all sit down in the living room.

"How was your first day back at school?" Jinxx asks.

"Boring, but I made a new friend." I say.

"What's their name?" He asks.

"Austin." I say.

"Ooh! Someone has a boyfriend!" CC yells. My dad walks into with a six pack.

"What's his name? I'm gonna kill him." My dad says.

"He's not my boyfriend! He's barely even a friend." I say.

"Good, you're too young for a boyfriend." He says.

"Dad, I'm sixteen years old." I say.

"Yeah you're only sixteen years old." He says handing a beer to each one of my uncles. He takes one himself and hands me one.

"So I'm old enough for a beer, but not a boyfriend?" I ask.

"She has a point Andy." Ash says backing me up.

"Dude, back off from my daughter." Dad says, I sigh.

"I need some fresh air." I say getting up. I grab a smoke and my lighter from my jacket, and walk out the front door. I light my cigarette and take a long drag.

I can't believe my dad right now. He had girlfriends when he was my age, why can't I have a boyfriend? The thing is, I don't even want a boyfriend, I just want the privilege to have one. If mom was here, she'd totally take my side. It's just been a long day, maybe I need a nap or something. I'm not going to be able to seeing my uncle CC is here. He'd probably draw on my face as I sleep, it's too risky. I finish my smoke and walk back inside. I walk into the living room and there's nowhere to sit. I sit down on the floor at my dad's feet. I feel him pull me up onto his lap and he smiles at me.

"Just like the old days." He says, but isn't completely correct. In the old days, his hand was never beneath my ass. It's kinda strange, he probably doesn't realize what he's doing, I kinda like it though.

"What movie should we watch?" Jake asks.

"Batman!" My dad and I say in unison.

"Like father like daughter." Jinxx comments.

"Come on, we always watch Batman, can we watch something else?" CC asks.

"Try to think of a better movie than any of the Batman ones." I say.

"The Avengers." CC says.

"You take that back!" My dad says.

"Make me Biersack!" CC says. The doorbell rings.

"That must be the pizza, I'll be right back." My dad says getting up to answer the door. Ashley pulls me onto his lap.

"Your looks take after your mom, you know." Ash says.

"Ashley, Andy's going to kill you, you know that?" Jake says.

"Yeah, yeah. So what are you up to these days?" Ashley asks me.

"Well I'm now the lead singer of my best friend's band." I say.

"I just realized we've never actually heard you sing." Jinxx says.

"Belt something out for us Lily!" CC says.

"She sits up high, surrounded by the sun
One million branches and she loves every one
"Mom and dad, did you search for me?
I've been up here so long I'm going crazy!"
And as the sun went down we ended up on the ground
I heard the train shake the windows
You screamed over the sound
And as we own this night

This love was out of control 3-2-1 where did it go?" I sing.

"Is that my babygirl?" My dad asks from the kitchen. He walks into the room and glares at Ash. "Dude! She's my daughter!" Ash lets go of me and I get up. I kiss my dad's cheek and go into the kitchen for a slice of pizza. I get a text and check my phone.

Jack: What's up?

Lily: Having a guys night, even though I don't have the parts to fit in.

Jack: Oh I was going to ask if you wanted to hang.

Lily: Well I guess there's the door. Sorry I can't, but I'm free tomorrow.

Jack: Cool, have a fun guys night.

I put my phone in my pocket when I hear someone walking into the kitchen. Okay it's just Jake. I walk out to the living room and sit on my dad's lap as I eat.

"So CC tells me you're in a band." Dad says.

"One day I'll sew your lips together Mr Coma, one day." I say making the guys chuckles.

"Why didn't you tell me about the band when I picked you up from school?" Dad asks.

"Well I knew you'd get super excited about it and want to help coach us. I'm only doing it for fun, I have other things in mind career wise." I say.

"What do you want to do babygirl?"

"I want to be a writer, I write little stories all the time, plus I already have written a novel."

"Do you think I could read your work sometime?"

"Yeah I'd love your input."

"You know writers always scare me, especially when they're apart of a fandom." Ash says.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because they write about you fucking your best friend, it's just wrong." Ash says.

"I don't know, part of me still believes in Andley." I say and the other guys laugh. Ashley and my dad shake their heads at me. "Have we decided on a movie?"

"Yes, we're watching Shaun Of The Dead." Jinxx says and I nod. My dad presses play on the movie, but I fell asleep halfway through it.



I wake up to the front door being slammed and almost jumped out of the bed.

"Lily go back to sleep, I'll go see what's going on." My dad says as he walks out of the room.

I look around to see this isn't my bedroom, it's my parents' bedroom. My dad was probably to lazy to drop me off at my room, but not too lazy to change me into pyjamas. This is just too odd, it's best to sleep it off. I roll back into the king sized bed and pull the blood red covers over my body.
Back to sleep.
