If Only She Knew.....

Andy walks into the coffee shop with Jinxx and my heart starts to race. Can I do this?
Andy takes one look at me and I start to shake. He quickly turns to the counter and buys a black coffee and a chocolate milk. He walks over and hands the chocolate milk to me, knowing it would calm me down.
“Thanks” I say, taking a sip.
“Don’t mention it” he waves me off. How do I do this? Awkward!
“Thank you for agreeing to talk to me” Andy says, trying to break the ice. I just nod and give him a weak grin.
“Look, I never meant to hurt you Andy, but I had to move away. I planned it weeks before and never told you, I couldn’t find the right time to… well... I loved you, but you moved on quicker than I thought. It made me feel like I meant nothing to you.”
“Nothing to me?!” He raised his voice. “Dillon you were everything to me, you left without a trace of hope for me to find you. I looked everywhere... for God sakes, your parents think you’re dead!”
“Good,” I snapped at him. “And if I was everything to you, why did you get engaged to her then, huh?”
“Because even the most wounded solder still moves on,” he sighs in resignation.
“Then why did you move on two weeks after I left? I might have not have talked to you in a long time, but I kept track of you,” My voice was cold.
“Obviously. Why can’t you get over it, huh? If it hurt so much then why didn’t you come back?”
“Because I loved you so much, I let you go. I know it was a dumb idea but it worked and how are you happily engaged to Juliet. Aren't you happy I left?”
Andy looked at Jinxx, his eyes begging.
“Of course I’m happy Dillon, but I miss you,” he said slowly.
Somehow I’d always wanted to hear him say that, but all I could think about was that rock on her finger.
“The ring you gave her was beautiful,” I said offhandedly.
“It wasn’t originally hers” Andy replies.

Everyones jaws dropped.
Jinxx looked at Andy in disbelief.
“Your upset about me being engaged? I could have been married now” Andy snaps at me.
“How do you know that I wouldn’t say no?” I say, raising my eyebrow.
“Because you keep saying you love me, but not once said you hated me, you never could, even when you were with Zane.” I flinch at the name. “He abused you Dill and you never stood up to him”

And instantly I have a flashback.

Walking down the hall with Zane looking at the distance to see an angry Andy in the corner. Zane walks me to my locker and leans into my ear
“Hey why don’t you come to my place tonight” he said winking at me making me feel uneasy.
“I can’t I promised a friend I would be with them tonight” Zane’s face fills with rage and he grabs a massive hand full of my hair and smacks my head into the locker.
“So being with your friends is more important then being with me?!!!” I grab my hair trying to ease every burning pain it is causing to me. Everyone starts to turn around but nobody does anything.
“My friend is more important then sex Zane! And I have a life outside of your grip!!” I yell back at him causing him to slap me really hard on the cheek.
“My place at 8 or I will find you, you little slut” I fall to the floor and weep. How the fuck did I let him into my life? Andy came around the corner with a bruised hand and he looked pissed.
“Lets go” He picked me up bridal style and carried me out of school.
“T-Thanks Andy” I whisper.
“You know you are being stupid Dillon, you can’t keep being with Zane. I can’t always be there to catch you when you fall.”
“But you always do in more ways then one” I said putting one of my headphones into his ear playing ‘The Morticians Daughter’ and he smiles.
Andy puts me in the passenger seat of his mustang and puts my seat belt on.
“Go to sleep, i’ll be here when you wake up” I curl into a ball and fall into a deep slumber.

End of flashback.

“oh yeah..I could never throw a punch and knock out a rockstar, you got your dream job and you got the girl. You just need to let me fall out of the picture..” I say looking at the table.
“I will never let that happen” Andy says sternly
“Why” I beg.
“Because I lost you once and it almost killed me, I can’t lose you again”
“Andy... your fiancee hates me, your band is always on tour and I have a job taking photos for Kerrang, we live is different worlds now it would make it to hard.”
“What do you do for Kerrang?”
“I take pictures of bands who are on tour” Andy eyes widen and so do Jinxx. Oh no.
