Free Bird

"Ashley!!!!!!!" I scream
I hear him run down the hall towards me, "What? Baby are you okay?"
"Not exactly, I didn't pee, my water broke."
His face went pale, and he stumbled back a step.
"Ash? You okay man?" I hear CC yell from the living room
I pull up my pants and go to our room. I grab my bag, that thank God I have had packed for two weeks. I walk out and everyone is looking at me, it's Shay that understands first.
"Oh my God are you serious?"
"Yup. Babe? Can you drive?" He doesn't look at me, "That's a no, can anyone here drive us to the hospital? It's baby time."
Everyone is all of a sudden frantic. Juliet takes me to her car, and Andy gets Ashley in the backseat next to me. We all drive to the hospital. Holy shit, ready or not, here comes my princess....


Ashley's P.O.V.
I hear her shout for me, I run to her. All I remember is her saying her water broke. Now we're at the hospital? I look around and see her talking to the doctor.
"Sir?" a nurse asks me
"Uh... yea?" I muster
"Neveah has suggested we give you a sedative to calm down, would you like it?"
I think about it, and realize I need to relax and be there for her, so I shake my head yes, and within 20 minutes I feel somewhat normal.
"You scared me to death baby." she says once her contraction passes, Juliet helping her lay on her back.
I am so thankful for Juliet and Andy stepping up while I was freaking out.
"Sorry baby, I'm okay now. Do you need anything?"
"Yes, I need you to come here." she says, a glint in her eye
I go over to her and she pulls my face to hers, and she kisses me. I kiss her back, and just the small exchange is enough to drive us crazy. I hear her heart pick up and decide to break off the kiss.
"I love you Ashley Abrocket Purdy." she says, her beautiful eyes full of nothing but love
"I love you too Neveah Olivia Tanner." I tell her back, my heart skipping a beat as the words leave my mouth.




Neveah's P.O.V.

After a torturous 13 hours of labor, and a lot of pushing and screaming, my beautiful princess in born. April 23rd, 2016 at 5:15 am. 5 1/2 pounds 17 inches. She is so tiny, but the doctors assure me she is healthy. As I hold my daughter, and Ashley stands next to me, as Juliet takes a photo, I turn my attention to the window. The sun has begun to rise and a strange bright ray of sunshine is shining through my window. I smile and whisper to my baby,
"Auntie Jessica says hello little one."
I look at my daughter as a smile spreads across her face.
