Free Bird

The rest of the day goes without a hitch. We split into teams for bowling and the girls beat the boys by 1 point.
"Ooooooh one point, and you forgetting you had a whole other human? Only one point is still sad with that fact." CC jokes as we sat around the table eating pizza.
I remember throwing a piece of garlic bread at him, and him having no idea who threw it. He blamed it on Amelia, but she said nothing. We talked and enjoyed the company of each other for a few more hours until it was getting "to late" It was only 6. Amelia had class in the morning, so we decided to drop her off at campus and head to the Santa Monica Pier. We got there right as they were turning the night lights on, and I could resist pulling Ashley towards the roller coaster. Everyone follows eager to get on the ride, but Ashley hesitates.
"What's the matter?" I ask him
"I guess now would be a good time to tell you, Ashley hates roller coasters." CC tells me while getting his tickets.
"You'll be okay, I'll be right next to you the whole time, and it doesn't go fast. It cant." I assure him, while taking his hand in mine.
He gives me a nervous smile, but gets on the ride anyway. He holds my hand in almost a death grip until he realizes it doesn't go fast, then he loosens his grip, but still never let go. Once we're off the ride he hugs me and get on his hands and knees to kiss the ground, earning a laugh from the rest of us.
Next was the Sea Dragon and Pacific Plunge. Now I hesitated.
"Whats the matter Neva?" Andy asks
"These make me sick..." I say gesturing to the two rides the guys said were next.
"Oh they make me sick too... but I never get to sit out." Juliet tells me while rolling her eyes at Andy
Well just like Juliet, I'm forced on the rides, and while the Sea Dragon isnt so bad, Ashley might need a doctor after the Pacific Plunge, because I think I help his hand too tight. Oops.
We save the Ferris Wheel for last, and since the pier isnt to crowded we asked if we could all sit in separate carts. They say its not a problem, and Ashley and I get on first. When we end up stopping at the top, I look out at the water. Lost in thought, I didn't notice Ashley grab my hand, but what snapped me back to him was when he kissed me. I kissed him back, so much love in this one kiss. So much that I knew when I said goodbye to him again on Thursday I was going to die. Just then the ride started moving again, and then it stopped for the final time, I looked down to see CC and Lauren getting on. I looked up to the top where I could just faintly make out the shapes of Andy and Juliet. Then the ride was going again, and this time it wasnt going to stop until we got off. Ashley held me as I watched the pier disappear and there be nothing but water for miles, then we dip back down to see the lights of the pier again. I look up at him to see him watching me, smiling. I smile back. Then I lean up, and he leans down. Our lips connect just as the lights disappear and we stay that way until we feel the ride starting to slow down. Once the ride is over we pile into the cars and head home, not that I want to leave them.
