My Fallen Angel

Chapter Sixty-Eight: Jealousy

We were shopping, oddly enough, actually shopping.
Not running off and finding somewhere to sleep together.
But I did need something to wear to the Welcoming party being thrown in their honor for their entrance to Wales (which I thought was odd, but apparently the daughter of a important person there was in love with their music and it happened every time).
So.
"Neither," Andy shook his head, and I sighed, tossing them back into the arms of the patiently waiting sales lady of the boutique who'd been charged with helping us. We'd been at this an hour already and I was getting bored; but if Andy liked an outfit I didn't, and vice versa.
I stared at my reflection unhappily; nothing was working.
At least when I'd been shopping with Ashley it had gone quickly, mostly because he found everything for me and kind of shoved it at me.
I really wasn't very good at this whole human clothing thing.
"You know, I think I might have something that will work," the sales lady said after a moment, shuffling her arm load of things. "It's not out in stock yet, but I believe it's something you'd like."
"Thank you," I nodded and she hastily walked away.
"Do I really have to go?" I sighed, turning to look at Andy. "Nothing is working."
"I'm sure you'll find something," he told me, getting off the comfy looking couch and stepping to my side. "There's plenty in here to choose from."
That didn't mean I was going to like them.
I shrugged glumly, and Andy chuckled, tilting my face up to kiss me.
Honestly, we probably should let the rest of his band be aware of our relationship, even though we weren't official; but if Andy kept up this public affection towards me it wouldn't be long until the public caught a picture of us, and it would only be worse since I was still labeled Ashlandils girlfriend.
So thats why I pulled away from him, almost guiltily, and glanced over as I heard heels.
My eyes widened.
"That's it!" I gasped, seeing the white dress the woman carried. "That's the one!"
She looked so relieved.
I quickly tried it on, and it fit perfectly, just like I knew it would. It was the color of snow, strapless, and clung until it reached my hips, where it flowed out into the swirls, where if you turned quickly, it would flare out beautifully.
"It's perfect," Andy agreed, gazing at me. He tugged on the collar of his shirt as I turned to face him giddily. I even had white heels to go with this!
But how much was it?
"What's the price?" I asked, not seeing a tag.
"Well, it's not supposed to come out until next season," the woman hesitated.
"It doesn't matter," Andy shrugged from his returned position on the couch, his arms sprawled along the back. ."I'll get it."
"But ---."
"You want it, don't you?"
"Yes, but ---."
"You haven't found anything else you've liked as much, right?"
"Well, yes ---."
"Then get it," he ordered, me and the woman staring at him. "And st
op worrying. Besides, I doubt anyone else would look as good in that dress as you would."
"He's right there," the sales lady agreed, eyeing me with envy (I wasn't trying to be arrogant, but I could practically sense it from where I stood how much she wished her own man would go shopping and buy her whatever she wanted). "You've a wonderful figure, miss. It was like that dress was made for you."
Well.
I blushed, smoothing my hands over the soft material.
I really hated for him to pay so much for it, I could only imagine the price.
But it really was so pretty...
"Okay," I agreed after a moment, and sent him a smile.
The dress, in American currency, was two thousand dollars.
I could have fainted.
Andy, however, didn't even bat an eye, just handed the mooning cashier his plastic card (I still didn't understand how touching the card to a box suddenly made it as valuable as the paper.)
She wrapped the kly in a box and handed it to him, even holding the doors open for us and asking us to come again.
"You shouldn't have done that, it was too much," I scolded him. "If I had known ---."
"Kenna, you love this dress," he bumped my shoulder. "You would have regretted not getting it long after we'd left, you know that. And I wanted too, it did look amazing on you."
I blushed, and he sent me a smile, squeezing my hand.
"So don't worry about it."
Fine, I wouldn't then.
An hour later we were back on the bus, and I quickly put the dress away, beyond excited to wear it tomorrow.
I headed back downstairs, and started to tell Ashlandil about it, plop
ping down thoughtlessly beside him; he was on his stupid laptop again, typing like he always was, and I was pretty sure he didn't hear a word I said.
I sighed in aggravation.
He nodded in all the right places, but he had no idea. k
"Kenna, do you ever have hairy legs?"
Startled, I looked at CC, seeing he was staring very intensely at my legs, and I shifted, wishing now I'd worn jeans instead of shorts.
Was I supposed to have hair on my legs?
"I mean, you take shorter showers then I do half the time --- do you wax or something? How is it they always look so smooth?" CC was frowning, and I shrugged; I wasn't sure how to reply to that.
"They're always smooth," Ashlandil yawned, not looking up from his screen. "She has good genetics."
"I don't understand. I shave my face more often then I've ever even seen Kenna shower; it's like you always smell like strawberries."
"I like strawberries." I blinked at him, wondering if it was a bad thing.
They were my favorite food here, except the sour ones, I didn't like those.
"I'm not saying its bad, you women just confuse me," he sighed, leaning against the counters.
Oookay.
I looked at my legs.
"You have great legs, don't take me the wrong way," CC burst quickly. "They're like killer, love em. I, I mean ---." Ashlandil was staring at him now. "---um, that, just --- I think my phones ringing."
He abruptly started up the stairs.
Ashlan chuckled, and he patted my thighs absently. "He has no idea how nice they are."
"Ashley, can you ---." Andy stopped mid sentence, and I glanced at him, seeing him coming up the steps of the bus, his jaw suddenly clenching.
I hastily got to my feet, aware of Ashlans hand still on my thighs.
"Can I what?" Ashlandil sighed, rubbing his scruffy jaw; he really needed to shave more often.
"Um, help me load some things into the back."
"Sure." Ashlan grunted as he rose to his feet.
Andy frowned at me, and I fidgeted, feeling guilty.
It hadn't been like he was thinking.

Notes

So Andy is still wary of Ashlandil taking back his women, eh? hehehe
And do you think something is gonna do down at this party?
I guess you'll find out tomorrow!

*showers everyone with tissue boxes for happy tears and sad ones, also adds complimentary chocolate candy*

I wonder if Ash does have a chance with Kenali eventually...

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the read --- sorry if it's a little slow !
