My Fallen Angel
Chapter Eighteen: Rejection
The way his face had changed, had warped...
It was all my fault.
I wept into my hands as the guys circled me worriedly.
"Fuck! What happened?" Jake demanded, glancing into the room. "Did you guys have a fight?"
"Kenna?" Jinxx knelt down in front of me slowly. "Did he hurt you?"
I shook my head, refusing to look at them. "No!"
"Are you sure? Look at me."
I shook my head wildly. He took my wrists and I flinched as he pulled them from my face.
He hesitated.
"Let's get her inside," I heard Andy say anxiously.
I couldn't even look at him.
"Can you stand, Ken?" CC asked, hovering. All of them looked so concerned, it broke my heart even more. I would have betrayed them all!
"Leave me alone!" I whispered. "Please. Just go away."
The guys looked at each other worriedly. Jake didn't say anything, just suddenly lifted me into his arms.
"No," I wept against his shoulder. "Please."
He carried me into one of the other rooms, and sat me down on the edge of the bed. He knelt down in front of me slowly, treating me like a wild animal.
"Kenna, this is very important, okay? I need to see your arms."
I frowned at him.
"He didn't hurt me," I muttered, "really. He was just angry." "I've never seen him so mad," CC murmured. "It was like he was a completely different person."
They didn't know him as well as they thought.
"I thought, I thought he would understand," I wept, curling my arms around my stomach.
"Understand what, sweetheart?" Jinxx asked, sitting beside me.
I shook my head; I couldn't tell them.
CC tugged on my sleeve, and I smacked his hand away quickly; they didn't need to touch me!
"Didn't hurt you, huh?" Jake muttered, and I glanced at my upper arms, seeing a ring of bruises I didn't even know I had. "It's not like that," I mumbled, exhaustion swelling through me.
"You can sleep in here," Jake straightened. "I'll take the couch."
"That's okay," I shook my head. "I'm fine."
I stood quickly. "I need to leave."
"It's the middle of the night!"
"I need to leave," I aimed for the door on unsteady legs. "I can't be here anymore. I have to take care of this!"
Andy darted in front of the door, and I froze, keeping my arms wrapped around myself.
"Take care of what?" he asked me warily.
"What do you need to do?"
"I --- I ---."
"Sit down," Jinxx told me quickly. "You don't look good!"
I didn't feel good either.
"You don't understand," I ran my hands through my hair. I couldn't be here when he came back.
"Kenna," CC stepped up to me warily. "Honey, you need to sit, like now."
I felt sick. I darted for the bathroom, and leaned over the toilet just in time.
"Fuck!" I felt someone gather my hair back. All the blood I'd taken from Ashley was being rejected.
A sour taste rose to my mouth.
Even his blood was against me.
"Remember when Ash mentioned about seeing an old friend a couple months back?" I heard Andy ask the guys after a moment, CC the one holding my hair back as I sat heaving weakly.
"Yeah?"
"Do you think that was her? What if she's pregnant or something?"
There was a brief silence, and I rolled my eyes. I couldn't even get pregnant.
I moaned, feeling worse then ever now.
"That would make sense," Jake sighed in aggravation. "He's been weird ever since she's been here. What if that was what the fight was over? Do you think she just told him tonight?" "What else could it be? It explains everything!" Jinxx added.
If I didn't get out of here soon, Ashley would probably get back, and in his current mood, he probably would kill me. Maybe I should let him.
Notes
Do you think Ashley is really so mad he would try to kill her?
