Can you ever forgive me?

Cassidy's POV

After a while, Andy stopped pushing me and I jumped off. I was somewhat having fun.

He pulled me over to the teeter totters and I shook my head and pulled away. "Why not?" He asked in concern.
I haven't had the best memories with teeter totters....

"I-I just c-can't." I stuttered, looking down. He took my hand in his and tilted my chin up.

"You can tell me." He whispered. I looked into those piercing blue eyes and saw the man I fell in love with.

I can trust him.

I sat on the grass before speaking. "When I was a freshmen, I went on a teeter totter with my boyfriend, Josh." I twirled a stand of my hair around my finger. "God, what was I thinking when I dated him.... Anyway, I trusted him to not let me get hurt." I swallowed the lump in my throat. "I never liked bumps to begin with, so I told him 'no bumps'." He told me to "stop being a baby and have fun." I paused for a second, not sure I wanted to tell Andy this part. "He was in the air and I pushed off the ground. He didn't stop the board with his feet when he went back down and I went in the air, flying. I told him no bumps!" I cried. I could still feel the pain in my arm.

"Shh. It's okay. I'm sorry for asking." Andy apologized.

"It's not your fault that I broke my arm because of him."

"You what?!" Andy whisper-yelled.

"I broke my arm when I landed on the jagged rocks. Josh didn't even say sorry or apologize. He thought it was funny. I told him to get help but he kicked me instead. He wanted to make sure that I'd keep my mouth shut about him on the teeter totter with me. It was a warning to keep everything to myself. That's when the beatings with him began." I couldn't tell him anymore. I started crying from all the memories racing through my head.

"Oh baby." Andy wrapped his arms around me and pulled me against his chest. "I'm so sorry. I would of saved you sooner if I could." My heavy breaths soon matched his calm, collected ones. I silently cried into his chest.

We just laid down on the grass, my head on his chest and his arms around my waist.

"Andy?" I whispered.

"Yeah?" He responded.

"I love you." He sat up and pulled me up with him.

"I love you too." He smiled, planting a kiss on my forehead. I smiled as he pulled away. Then he leaned down and our lips brushed, sending a tingling sensation through my body. He grabbed my hand and wrapped an arm around my waist as we stood up. "How about that lunch?" He asked with a smile that said "everything will be alright." Everything would be alright, as long as he was by my side.
