Can you ever forgive me?

My Mom Never Gives Up

Cassidy's POV

A door slammed and I twisted under my sheets, slowly waking up. I looked a my phone and it was 7:30. Who's leaving or coming in at 7:30 in the morning? They disturbed my sleep. I grumbled and got up, looking around. I put on my bunny slippers and blue robe. Before walking out of my new room, I looked around. It was still small, nothing could change that, but it was kind of a cozy small. A warm feeling almost. Only for a second. It just wasn't right for me. Too small.

I made my way downstairs to find the person that woke me up. "Hey! Who slammed the door?" I yelled. No answer. "Nobody freaking answers me around here." I said, storming into the kitchen.
"Hey, Cas."
"Hey, Abby. Where are the guys?" I was sure that they slammed the door now.
"They went out to get donuts. And it was Ashley that slammed the door." She added with a smile.
"Did you have fun last night?" I asked, trying to contain my laughter.
"What do you mean? Want a glass of orange juice?" She went towards the fridge and went through it. I took a seat at the island in the kitchen.

"No, milk please." She nodded and poured me a glass. "Don't change the subject."
"I don't know what your talking about." She stated.
"You and Ash last night!" I cried out, laughing. She blushed and looked down.
"That was nothing. Nothing happened and nothing will happen." She claimed.
"Seriously? We could hear you guys downstairs, and your door was closed." She blushed some more.
"How do you like your apartment?" She asked.
"Changing the subject again. What about you and Ash?" I sighed and shook my head.
"You're changing the subject, too." She added. "Hiding something."
"How?" I asked, curious.
"I asked you a question about your apartment and if- now you're making me digress into this long discussion of how you don't know that you're changing subjects too."
"Don't need to point your finger." I put her finger down and took a sip from my glass of milk. She waited for me to confess.
"Ok! Stop looking at me like that." She laughed and turned off her death stare."I just don't like the apartment, okay." I said it really fast.
"Why not? It was so sweet that he got it for you!"
"I know. I appreciate it too. It's just too small. Not enough room for my clothes and shoes."
"Don't be such a princess."
"I'm not used to living in small places. You've been to our house before."
"Yeah, everything's fancy. You have a giant room too."
"Does your mom know you're staying here?" I asked, worried. Her mom was like my mom.
"Kinda. She knows I'm with you but not here. She thinks I'm at your house."
"She's going to kill you when she finds out!"
"Well I'm 25, Old enough to do what ever I want. She's not my boss any more." I thought about her words. That was so true. "Plus, she won't find out." She said, winking at me.
"And Andy and the guys aren't going to find out about my disgust for the apartment either." I said, winking at her and making her laugh. "You hear that?" I asked. She turned her head towards the window and listened.
"Police sirens." We squealed and went towards the window. When we were kids we loved going to the window and watching the police cars drive by with their lights on. We'd yell 'go police go! Catch the bad guy!' And believe it or not, we still do.
I opened up the curtain and my face dropped. "Uh oh. I think we're the bad guys." She said. She looked at me with fear in her eyes. I swallowed the big lump in my throat as the police approached my front door. I quickly closed the curtain and looked at Abby.
"What did we do?" I whispered. I was almost sweating now.
"I-I don't know." She stood there, frozen with fear.
"Police! Open up!" I glanced at Abby and slowly walked towards the door. Abby went and hid behind the couch. I Unlatched the bolts and turned the knob, revealing me face. "It's her!" Shouted the officer in front of my face. They pulled me out of the house and then I saw her. It all clicked into my head.
"Mother." I said under my breath as she walked up to me.
