Living Dead

I looked at the small orange basket and made sure I had everything I need.
Face paint and brushes, along with a black bow tie. I payed the supplies and made sure Nalani was going to go over my house or the other way around. I made a quick stop at Sally's to get some fake eyelashes some dark eyeshadow. My phone starts to ring and I quickly got it in my hands before my ringtone got louder.
"Hello?" I balance my phone on my shoulder and my ear. I'm a pro at this, I must say.
"It's Lani. We have the same shift!"
"That's awesome! Hey, I need help with the makeup."
"Thought you may say that, come over. I just made some meatloaf and you should come and try it." I chuckle as I picked up a bottle of dark red nail polish.
"I will. I'll be there In a few.."
"Alright, see ha Ada"
"Bye Lani."

I got my bag packed for the clothing after work, it being a pair of jeans and an extra long cardigan and my converse. I get into my car and drive to Lani's house, who beautifully lived really close to the club. I wonder if Ambrosia was still there. Hmm. I turn up the volume of my car, letting the voice of Bon Jovi surround my whole car. The window was down. So people would give me weird looks, I just didn't seem like the girl who would listen to rock and all that. Music was music. Don't really care. To my luck, Nalani was outside her house, watering her little garden she had in front of her house. She points behind the van her family owns and I park right behind it. Got my bags and the makeup and got out.
"You look ready."
"I need the money." I simply said, making her grin.
"Come on, we have an hour to go and i take my time to paint." She grabs my arm and basically drags me inside her house. I waved hello to her family who was sitting in the family room and went to her room. Her band posters covered the walls, and I looked around.
"You never took them down."
"And never will." She pats her bed and I sit down, she climbs on me, and wraps her legs around my waist. It would sound weird, but we didn't care. She got the makeup out of the bags and immediately got the white paint. "Tie your hair." I do so. "Close your eye." I close both of my eyes and she chuckles, but puts the little foam triangle filled with paint on my face.
"You've done this before?"
"I made a makeup tutorial for YouTube."
"Of course." I couldn't see it, but I knew she was laughing. She concentrated very hard on the skull, I didn't say anything because I didn't want her to mess up. I open my eyes real quick and she nods.
"I'm done." I widen my eyes and she smiles. "Don't even worry about your makeup, cause I did that too." I stand up and look at her mirror.
"Woah." I said, softly. My eyes were rimmed in black, that my brown eyes looked lighter than usual. "Thanks so much!" I said, and looked at her.
"Don't even say anything. Just clip on that bow and let's go!" She was putting on her black dress along with some heeled combat boots. I put everything back in my bag and we rushed outside.
"Bye!!" She yelled and got a chorus of bye and love you and we were on our way to the club, on our freaking heels. These shorts were so tiny, ugh. They bothered me. It wasn't even a block form her house when we started to get catcalled. I rolled my eyes at many, and flicked so many of them off.
"Welcome to my world." Lani said, putting her hair in a bun. "Come on." She opens the black door of the club and we entered the cool, dark environment.
