Stick Sick

Chapter Two

That day was a lot like all the rest. We were in tenth grade and were just entering second quarter in our small town school where the middle school conjoined with the high school. Life was boring but if nothing is happening nothing can be wrong. Right? My friends Jennifer, Hope, Justin and I all sat around the small library table.
Jennifer tapped my shoulder and I looked at her. She pointed towards the lounge section of the library where my sister and her brother sat. Eighth graders littered around them. I giggled at the nothing that they didn't know they were. The power couple of prefreshmen. Mia, my sister, was glaring at Megan Jennifer's brother's ex and it was all I could do to not laugh when they started screaming at each other about how Mia wasn't as good a match for matt or how Megan needed to get over herself.
as the fight ensued I turned away laughing with Jennifer. We heard the librarian sigh and hopped out behind her Desk. Just as the fight was simmering down the library doors clicked open and everyone turned to see who it was.
I laid my legs across Jennifer's lap as we watched Coreywalk in with a newbie.
"Hey Cor, who's your friend there?" Hope asked softly.
"hi, this is Andy." He motioned to the gorgeous blue eyed black haired boy behind him. "Andy this is Hope." She motioned to our very own pretty in pink cheerleader. She waved. "Justin." He pointed to the boy who used to date Jennifer before he found out he was gay and the only reason Michael was with us dark emo types. "And Lucy and Jennifer." He joined our names together because we were a team. Never apart from each other for long. I suppose we looked odd. My legs draped over her with her leaning to the side on me.
Andy stared at us for a moment before addressing Jennifer and I "you two a couple?" He asked.
"no." We answered in unison.
"they are the only two people in the world who could understand each other." Justin said being the only one to understand that.
Andy nodded taking the empty seat next to me. Jennifer and I untangled ourselves to get a better Look at him.
we were screwed at that moment, Jennifer and I, we both wanted him and what were you supposed to do if your best friend in the entire world and you had a crush on the same guy.
