**Mikey’s POV**
“Mom! Mom! Mom! Wake up! Wake up!” I said as I crawled on top of her back and tugged on her long, weird human fur
“Mikey!” she groaned as she rolled over, knocking me off onto the bed “It’s too early for this shit!”
“But moooooom! I’m hungry!” I whined as I tried to crawl back on top of her
“Mmm, stop it Mike, ten more minutes.” She mumbled as she pushed me off again and went back to sleep.God, I swear, my human sleeps like a cat! Ugh! I snorted at her in disapproval then jumped off her bed. Guess I’ll go get my own damn kibble. I trotted over to the pantry and began to scratch the door open.
“Mikey, you little shit, cut it out!” growled Annie from the sofa
“YOU cut it out, you lump of lard! YOU AREN’T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!” I snapped as I ran over to the sofa
“You’re just jealous that my daddy loves me more than your mommy loves you.” She yawned as she peered over the edge of the sofa at me
“Oh yeah, well your daddy can’t save you from my mom’s wrath when she sees all the fur you’ve gotten on the sofa.” I said
“Whatever, bite me.” She muttered as she laid her head back down. Bitch, I just might. I growled and grabbed the edge of the blanket she was laying on with my teeth and began tugging. “Mikey? What are you…AW HELL NO!” she yelped as I pulled her and the blanket off the sofa “YOU BITCH! I’M TELLING DADDY!” she snarled
“Well technically you’re the bitch…” I said as she got up and ran into her human’s room. I snorted at her and made my way back to the pantry. Good luck trying to wake him up. After a minute or two of scratching, I pried the door open and began sniffing for the kibble. I don’t know why the humans keep saying that the door is broken, it’s never been easier to open it! As I was smelling for the kibble bag, I caught a new smell, one that I had never smelled before. I began to investigate this new smell out of curiosity which lead me to a small, dark gap between two boxes on the pantry floor.Just as I had stuck my face into the gap, something inside moved towards me. I yelped and ran to the edge of the kitchen before looking back to watch as a strange creature that was about the size of my human's hand crawl out. "Hey! Who the hell are you?" I asked as I walked towards it. It didn't answer, but kept crawling out of the pantry. “I’m talking to you!” It still ignored me. When I was close enough to begin the sniff test, it quickly lifted up its leg things which made me lurch back. “Woah, buddy! The hell are you doing?” It began to crawl towards me which really freaked me the hell out. “Hey! C-cut it out!” but it kept coming “I-Imma get my momma! She’ll fucking end you!” I whined as I darted out of the kitchen and went back to my human’s room. “MOM! MOM! MOM! HELP! THERES A MONSTER IN THE KITCHEN!” I yelped as I jumped on her frantically.
“God damnit, Mike! Fine! I’m up!” she groaned as she finally got up. I jumped off her bed then ran to her door and waited anxiously for her. Why do humans have to be so damn slow in the morning?! “What’s wrong, Mikey baby? You look a little spooked.” She said as she followed me into the kitchen. I immediately ran up to the monster and growled at it.
“That’s right, motherfucker, my mom will DESTROY YOU!” I growled cockily. Mom walked into the kitchen and before I even knew what happened, we were both on top of the kitchen counter and mom was screaming her lungs out. “What are you doing? You’re supposed to scare away the monster!”
“What the actual fuck?!” shouted Annie’s dad as he walked out of his room with Annie under his arm
“B-big…Fucking…Sp-spider!” my mom stammered as she pointed to thing she called a ‘spider’
“Are you kidding me?! All of the commotion over a little spi-OH MY FUCKING SHIT!” Annie’s dad yelled when he walked into the kitchen and within seconds he and Annie had joined us on the countertop. Well…this did not go according to plan.
Just then there was some loud banging on the front door and some shouting. The door flew open and the four boys that lived next door fell into our apartment then scrambled to their feet holding nets and a plastic container.
“WHERE SPIDER?!” shouted the biggest of the boys. Mom pointed to the kitchen floor and the boys charged over and battled with the beast until the smallest of them captured it and dumped it into the container.
“HELL YEAH! TAKE THAT!" I yelled at the container as it was passed to the biggest one.
“Hehe, silly puppy! Did you make friends with Moogie?” asked the smallest one as he gave me a pat on the head.
“Wait… Moogie? That’s Moogie? I thought Moogie was a hamster!” said Annie’s dad as he and my mom crawled off of the counter with Annie and me.
“Nope, we were going to get a hamster for Christmas from mom…” began the second biggest
“But then dad said he would get us something cooler if we decided to spend Christmas with him instead!” finished the second smallest
“Well, either way, thank you for coming and getting…it.” Said mom as she escorted them to the door
“Don’t mention it! But seriously don’t, mom will kill us if she finds out Moogie got out…” said the oldest as they all walked out
“Bye Ms. Hailey! Bye Mikey! Bye Mr. Alex! Bye Annie!” shouted the smallest as he waved goodbye and left with the others. Mom waved and shut the door.
“Remind me to never pet sit for them.” Said mom as she set me down
“Same.” Said Annie’s dad as he headed into the kitchen “Now, how about a treat for Mikey for being so brave and alerting us of danger?” I think I like the sound of that!
