On Leather Wings

Andy's POV:
I unlocked my apartment, quickly stepping in, closing the door and locking it, and slid down to the floor in on fluid motion. Why would he do that to himself... I didn't understand. I didn't want to see him like that again. His hazel eyes looked so dull and lifeless while he was crying. They seamed to light up when I asked him to go to lunch. That stupid waitress kept flirting with him though, which made me mad for some reason. He didn't look affected by her, which kind of made me feel a little better. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard "The Unforgiven" by Metallica go off. I quickly grabbed my phone to see that it was Jinxx. "Hello?" I said hesitantly. "Hey Andy! I haven't heard from you since we got back from tour! When are you going to have a practice?" Shit! I had totally forgotten about the band. I had been so worried about Echo that I forgot. "Um, yeah. How about we have practice next week, on Monday. That should give us all enough to take care of bills and house keeping." I sighed. That's the one thing I hated about being on tour so often. When ever we came back, life sucker punches you in the gut. "Sounds good! I'll tell the rest of the guys! See you then!" He hung up right after that. I walked into my room and pressed my head against the wall that separated my room from Echo's. I heard soft sniffles and occasional sobs. That Aurora bitch must have really fucked him over to have hurt him this bad. After listening for a little while longer, I got into my bed next to the wall and went to sleep.
Jinxx's POV:
"Sounds good! I'll tell the rest of the guys! See you then!" I chirped and swiftly hung up. I sent a text out to the rest of the guys, informing them on the plan. After that I set the phone down and sighed. That was odd. I knew that Andy had forgotten about the band. What could have been so important to him that he forgot about it! Something bad must have happened. That would be the only reason why Andy would forget. This bothered me, but I had to get to sleep. I rested my head against the pillow and tried to make my mind go blank.

Echo's POV:
I awoke feeling more refreshed than normal. For once I had slept through the night without any trouble. I glanced at my phone to see more text messages from Aurora. Great. I decided to ignore them and get dressed. As soon as I was dressed, I decided that it was about time that I started looking for more members for my band. I went out to the sunset strip and did some shopping, casually looking at the famous people that occasionally walked by. That's when I heard it. The beautiful sound of an acoustic guitar playing just around the corner. I ran to the sound and saw the player. He had black, spikey hair, brown, almost black almond shaped eyes, and perfectly shaded olive skin. His AC/DC shirt was ripped in some places and he had on black ripped skinny jeans, and black convers. He did seam to notice my stair as he played a song that sounded very familiar. I sat there for a second and thought, then it struck me. The name of the song was River Flows In You. It was traditionally a piano piece that I had learned during my years of piano. I saw that he didn't have a lot of cash in the hat that he had put out, so I dropped a few dollar bills in the hat. He looked up at me and smiled. He looked around my age, maybe a little older. He looked back down and continued playing. I walked over by him and sat down. He looked at me, obviously confused. He finished the song and set his guitar down. "May I help you?" He asked politely. His voice was surprisingly deep, not as deep as Andy's though. "Yeah, I heard you playing down the street and just had to know who you are! You are really good at playing guitar!" He chuckled a little bit. "My name is Cloud Maki. I've been living in LA for the past two years." He got here around the same time Andy moved here. I wonder if they know each other. "I'm Echo Summers. I just moved here from Minnesota this week. I'm just curious, are you in a band by chance?" He looked at me with a sad smile on his face. "No, I want to be though. I've been playing at this same corner every day for the past two years, hoping that someone would stop and talk to me. A few people have, every now and then, but they never stay and talk. You're the first!" I laughed. He gave me a happy grin. I had obviously made his day. "Well, do you want to join my band? It's called Taking the darkness. Right now it's just me, the lead singer, and my best friend Apollo who is on drums." His eyes widened and his grin grew bigger. "Really?! Oh my god yes! What type of music do you guys play?" "Rock and roll baby! We like loud amps in the face! Bands like Metallica, kiss, Misfits, and Black Veil Brides!" I said standing up. He jumped up, grabbed his guitar, and faced me. "Awesome dude! I love everyone of those bands! Especially Black Veil Brides! I've seen Andy every once in a while. He always stops and talks to me, asks me how life is." He looked a lot happier than before. "So, are you living anywhere right now?" I casually asked. "No, I've been living in my car since I moved here. I've spent all the money I get in tips on guitar stuff." He looked sheepishly at the ground. "Well, you can live with me if you want. You would have to sleep on the couch for a while, until we can get you a bed." He got even more happier, if that was possible. He looked like he had just won the lottery. "Really?! Please tell me that this is not a joke!" I laughed at his excitement. "This is the real deal. I would never lie about something like this. Here is my address and my cell number." I conveniently had piece of paper in my pocket and a pen. I wrote down the information and gave him the paper. We said good bye and parted ways. I finished my shopping and headed home.
