If Heaven were on Earth

Chapter 3

Nicole's POV:

I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to stop my shivering. My parents couldn't drive me today, and it started to rain halfway through my trip to school. I had run the rest of the way, but still managed to get drenched. At least I was a little earlier to school so o could change. Thank god for gym clothes.

I pulled off my hoodie revealing my black tank top, and quickly rushed to the girl's bathroom to change out of my damp baggy jeans and into my leggings. I glanced at my appearance in the mirror and cringed; from my many sleepless nights of working on homework or assignments, studying for tests or future exams, my face looked awful.

I rummaged through my bag and found my makeup, something I rarely used. I quickly powdered my face in foundation and concealer, and added a pinch of blush along with some mascara. A touch of lipstick and I felt a bit better regarding my appearance. Nodding in approval, I set out to my locker to gather my books for first period.

on my way to my first class, I once again, ran into Andy and his group of friends. I held back my scowl, keeping my head down as I shuffled past them. As usual, they noticed me and Andy stepped in front of me, blocking my path.

I looked up at him, for the first time noticing just how pretty his eyes were. They were a crystal baby blue, and they seemed to sparkle in light. Andy was handsome, even I could admit that, but he makes my life a living hell, so those two cancel each other out a bit.

His eyes travelled up and down my form, lingering on my legs and chest, fitted into tight clothing, an unusual sight I'm sure. A smug smirk graves his lips, and crossed his arms as he continued to look me up and down. In my discomfort, I hugged my body, feeling unnerved under his intense gaze.

"Well, look at that, Princess finally put on clothes actually made for her," Oliver muttered, eyeing my outfit.

"Leave her alone Oli," Alex, the brown haired guy snapped, shoving him.

I sent him a grateful smile, before trying to get around Andy, but he still wouldn't budge. "Please, move, I need to get to class."

His eyes darted up to meet my gaze, and for a moment, I thought he smiled at me, but all too quickly, another smirk took over. "Someone's gotten mouthier."

I scowled, shoving past him and going to my first class. I was in no mood to be messed with. I'm too sick of these guys pushing me around.

I arrived at my history class right on time, settling into my usual seat at the back of the class. I opened my notes and scanned through them, searching for my history paper due today. When I didn't find it immediately, I sucked in a breath, I was certain that i had packed it last night. But it was nowhere to be found. Realization struck me, one of the guys must've taken it. And I was screwed.

"History paper, Miss Taylor?" My teacher asked, his voice giving away his boredom.

I hesitated before answering, "no, I don't have it. I forgot to pack it, I'm sorry."

He nodded, "I'll see you at 3:10pm then, for detention."
