If Heaven were on Earth

Andy's POV:

I freeze as her bruised and bloodied body comes into view. This can't be happening, not to her, not to my baby. She doesn't deserve this, my angel, the love of my life. I can't believe I fucked up this much, that I allowed for this to happen. What's worse is that her goddamned parents are in the next fucking room and I could easily call the cops, or knock them out.

Im shaken out of my somewhat murderous thoughts by the few crystal tears that fall from her watering eyes. I immediately turn my attention back to her, and my expression softens. I catch the first tear as it reaches her cheek, frowning at the droplet of clear liquid. My poor baby, she's hurting. And I can't help but feel like it's all my fault.

Without uttering another word, I pull her flush to my chest, running my hands soothingly through her silky strands of hair and down her shuddering back. She responds quickly, melting into my embrace and finally letting out her sobs, shaking in my arms.

"Shh, sh, baby it's alright. I won't let them hurt you ever again, I promise," I murmur soothingly, although I don't believe the words coming from my mouth. How could I ever protect her if she doesn't completely trust me?

She makes a whimpering sound which practically breaks my heart. I press my lips against her forehead and bring her head to rest on my chest, sheltering her with my body.

"I saw Oli," she mumbles after a few silent moments.

I tense up at his mention, "what did you say?"

She takes a shuddering breath, pulling away slightly so she can look me in the eyes, "Oli gave me a ride home. I didn't know how to get back and didn't have any money for the bus, so he offered to drive me."

I close my eyes and try to calm down, but my emotions are reeling. Oli, the same guy who wants to fuck my girlfriend, who was also my best friend, was alone, in the same car as her, late at night. And nobody knew where she was. She couldn've easily been taken advantage of. That bastard.

"Andy?" She whispers, "nothing happened, I swear. It was just so cold, and well, I didn't know what else to do. He's not that bad though, so don't be too mad at him!" she pleads with me.

I sigh, "alright, just as long as nothing happened. He didn't hurt you though, right?" If he touched her, I don't know what I'd do.

She nods quickly and snuggles closer to me, shivering slightly. I nuzzle her hair and lie down, keeping her in the circle of my arms, bringing the covers over us.

"We still haven't discussed what happened earlier..." She mumbles, referring to our argument earlier today.

I nod, "we can talk about that tomorrow, right now, all you need is sleep."

She complies, and in seconds, is fast asleep in my arms. I follow suit after a few moments of simply gazing and soaking in her beauty. Even bruised and battered, she's the most beautiful, purest, sweetest girl I've ever met. And I adore her for it. I will do anything to make her happy, and I will strive to protect her from anything that threatens to harm her.

She's the love of my life after all.
