Metal hearts

Arriving

It was twilight by the time my little car veered down the pleasantly still back roads of Suffolk. I had travelled past Ipswich and into Framlingham; a beautiful little town. From what I could remember from my first trip down here at the age of seven had almost been completely preserved and unchanged. I pull onto a small road and plant the wheels of my car neatly in the place between two rocks.
The undeniable charm of a place such as this leaves an unforgettable mark on your heart; you'd be wrong to call it a scar. It is more a positive engraving.
The town feels as though it is stuck within the glass of time, as though a pendulum stopped swaying as the hands continued to turn. No matter how poisoning we as humans become, we can never dim the unpolluted innocence that shines in Suffolk's moon. As a nature lover, this is blissful.
I remember the way; how could I ever forget? I walk past the crumbling buildings that line the cobble stone pathways and find myself in the once familiar square. I see the Crown and decide to take a walk up to the Church to see, on the way, some old shops. I pass the small entrance leading to the unique but expensive Ruby Tyger and I make my way up to the graveyard.
Most would call it creepy but I find that whenever I find myself in moments like this, I spur more inspiration. It just comes alight, like a flame.
Someone stands at the entrance to the Church door; it is a small and hauntingly innocent looking building and the striking height and build of the figure looked extremely out of place. I wasn't entirely accustomed to the light but I could make out that it was a manly-looking women who held what looked like a note.
Hmmmm...and I found myself thinking how cliche it was that I was scared in such a completely normal circumstance. I lifted my hand as if to salute to the pale body with such a stern countenance.
"Evening!" I yelled, hopefully the strain in my voice didn't reflect and I began to walk around the back of the Church and out of the entrance.
"Gaaaaaaaaaaah!!" This made me stop dead in my tracks. What had come out of the creatures mouth resembled the failed attempt of a baby trying to speak it's first word only much, much deeper and much, much more threatening. It's ok, Lana, she's probably just grieving a loved one....see there's a newly dug grave over there, stop being such a wuss.
I looked around and had to stop myself from.crying out . The apparition was less than two yards away. Whatever she...it was, I couldn't trust it was nice. Panic started to rise in my chest, this was worse than most cases. It was literally as if someone was suspending me in this position. Forcing me to look at the ghostly being. I screamed.
"What are you? Get away from me!!!"
A smile rose upon her lips as three sharp cough-like laughs escaped her lips and, with that, she was gone.

Completely gone.
