Chapter 37

[Jessa's POV]
I couldn't sleep, and by the sounds coming from down the hall, my brother dearest and his nurse sure as hell couldn't either. I guess I'll head downstairs and watch something on television or play a game. As I closed the door and turned to walk away I crashed into someone and fell to the floor. I glanced up, but only saw an extremely tall shadow.

"Hello Batman, why are you up so late?" I whispered.

" Who can with that noise going on? I really did not need to know some of the things I've heard coming from in there. I figured I'd head down and maybe write a bit or draw. What about you?" He sounded tired and a bit pissy from being kept up.

"I really don't hear what's going on, but just muffled thuds or groans. Not what I want to hear knowing it's coming from my brother's room. I was headed to watch something or game if you want to join me."

"I'll grab the snacks if you grab the drinks." He said as he turned.

I pulled up a movie I'd started on Netflix and hit play as Andy came in the living room. The theme song came on and Andy started singing along really badly. I turned slowly to look at him. "Don't kill Lion King like that Andrew."

After a few minutes the rest of the guys and Riley came down stairs. Jeremy saw me sitting with Andy on the couch and headed over my way.

"I was wondering where you went to. I woke up from the demolition derby going on down the hall and didn't see you next to me."

"I knew what would happen after Jake grabbed some of my clothes. I laid down next to you with a book, but there is no way I could sleep hearing that."

Andy chimed in with half a laugh, "At least you can't hear it like I could."

"I hope they're not at it too much longer. I want to go back to bed." Riley sighed sitting in the floor in front of me.

"I've got an idea, and he may kill me for it." I looked to CC then his drum sticks on the table.

CC grinned wide. "Oh, I am so in."

Fifteen minutes later CC was marching around the house and upstairs with a snare rigged around him with a few belts.

"Maybe we should get him one like they have in marching band. It may be useful if this happens again." Andy laughed.

[Jake's POV]
"Holy fuck, that was amazing" I sighed as Billie laid back down next to me.

Billie grinned while looking at the fan. "Mind-blowing."

Our moment of peace came to a screeching halt, and Billie quickly traded her look of ecstasy for one of confusion. "What the fu-?"

I cut her off before she could finish. "My guess is CC. The one that put him up to it, probably my sister. I guess we weren't exactly as quiet as we tried to be."

"Hey, at least we knew we were doing it right from the sounds the other was making." She grinned.

I kissed the top of her head and grabbed my phone.

Message received. Now call off the little drummer boy. - Jake
