[Andy’s POV]

“Andy, can you toss me your lighter? I need to light torches and the grill to get dinner going.”

“I’ll get the torches, you get the grill. I need something to do other than stare mindlessly at Yanni doing laps while I smoke another cigarette.”

I looked to him as I lit the last torch, “I’m about dead on my feet after today. I really hope the rest of this trip is uneventful. I think the last thing we need to do is finish packing Riley up and call some movers to pick up all the boxes.”

Jake and CC walked out with the chicken and asparagus for on the grill.

“I already did that guys. They’ll be here Tuesday at four. That way their stuff isn’t home after we are.” Matt called from the pool.

“Damn he’s good.” Ash muttered walking back inside.

[Riley’s POV]

I’ve gotten so close with the guys so quickly, I feel like I’ve got a family now. Of course I feel differently about Ash.

I left the guys walking back in the house to check on Riley. I open her bedroom door a bit and hear the water moving around in the bath sill. I knock on the door.

“Who is it?” She called.

“It’s Ash. I was just checking on my little mermaid in the tub.”

I open the door to see her in a huge claw foot tub covered in bubbles.

“I figured you may want this instead of the tea.” I hand her a glass of wine I snagged from the kitchen before making my way in here.

“Is this how you treat all of your employees, or just the ones you want to hook up with?” She implores as I sat on the edge of the tub.

“Just you. I was kind of hoping that eventually, you’d be something more than just a hook up.” I admitted.

“I was hoping the same for you Ash, I’m tired of having that reputation.” She took a long sip of wine.

As she handed me her glass to hold, a tendril of her pastel hair fell into her eyes. I gently brushed it back, leaving my hand on her cheek, I leaned in to kiss her soft lips.

I quickly lost balance and fell in.

“Oh my, Ashley! Are you okay?”

“Am I okay? Why are you asking me that? I fell on you! Are you okay?” I panicked, what if I hurt her?

“I think the wine and your clothes are the only things that were ruined.”

We both sat covered in bubbles looking at each other before bursting into laughter.

[Riley’s POV]

I reached over to the small table by the tub and grabbed my phone.

“Smile Ash!” I said as I took a picture.

“You better send me that. I promise no one else will see it.”

“Ash, you can’t see anything through the amount of bubbles I put in this tub.”

“Well, I’m going to grab a towel and head out of here to get changed, and that way you can get dressed too.”

He kissed my cheek and got out of the tub and shucked his clothes down to his boxers, then
he grabbed a fresh towel and left my bathroom.

“I’ll be back for my shoes and wet clothes later.” He called as he shut my bedroom door.

[CC’s POV]

“ASHLEY PURDY! WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING IN THERE LIKE THAT?” I yelled so loud Andy, Jake, and Matt came rushing in.

“I took Riley a glass of wine.” He smirked and continued.

“I moved a part of her hair that fell in her face and went to kiss her, and before our lips could meet, I fell in on her. Bubbles everywhere. I left most of my clothes with my shoes in there so I don’t track water across the house.” He flashed us his dripping boxer briefs to prove it.
Jake, Andy, and Matt were holding one another up from laughing so hard. When it seemed they finished, they walked back out to the deck, only to burst into a fit of laughs again.

I looked to Ashley’s red face, “Awwww! You have my permission to date my bff.”

[Jinxx’s POV]

I hadn’t been asleep long when I heard a roar of laughter from the floor below. CC must be up to more jokes for the day. I roll over and pull the small blanket over myself and try to go back to sleep for just a bit longer.

[Jake’s POV]

“Andy, would you mind grabbing plates and stuff and bringing them out? Dinner is about to come off the grill.”

“Sure thing.”

“I’ll grab the salad and have Ash grab the drinks.” CC chimed in.

“Need me to get anything?” A relaxed looking Riley came out asking.

“Nope. Just pick a spot and sit. We have it all under control. We’ll even catch the dishes when we’re done.”

Thankfully, Andy had grabbed paper plates and plastic flatware and Solo cups up while he was out. We all hate doing dishes.

She looked at me with a smile, “Bubby, you guys don’t have to do all this.”

“You’re the reason Jess is going to be okay, and you’re putting up with us for a week. I think we can manage this.” I hugged her.

“Ash told me how you were feeling about all this. Jessa is apparently a good actress when it came to hiding this. I didn’t know something could have been off in any way until our last Skype call. Thank you for doing what you did.”

“Thanks Bubby.”

“Hey now, let go of my girl.” Ashley came out teasing

Riley smirked. “Technically, I’m nobody’s girl. While people may have made their intentions known, I remain a single lady.”

CC shot her a look and they were suddenly up dancing as they started singing:

“Alright, dinner is up.” I placed the food off the grill onto a pan on the table. “I’m going to check on Jessa and Jinxx before I eat.”

“Jake, take them some dinner up when you go. I doubt you or Jinxx will be able to convince her to leave the bedroom.” Matt said.

He has a point. I don’t know how I’m going to react to seeing her like this. I’m just glad I can be here for her. That we all can be here for her.

[Jinxx’s POV]

I startled awake to a knock and the door opening. Jake came in and sat next to Jessa, moving the hair away from her face.

“Dinner is done. Do you think she’ll come down?” He asked.

“I doubt it Jake. I know you remember how I was, I have a feeling this is going to be worse if we all aren’t careful.”

“Ok. I have a plate for you in the hall on the table. I put enough on there for both of you. Think we could get her to eat something?”

“We can try.” I frowned.

Jake bent down to Jessa’s level and rubbed her back a little.

“Sissy, it’s time to wake up. It’s dinner time, and I know you’ve got to be hungry.”

“No, I don’t want to get up… I don’t want to eat… I don’t want to do anything.” She started crying again

He scooped her up and held her tight as he sat in her place on the bed turning Jessa so she could see both of us.
