Stitch These Wounds With Me Tonight

[Jake’s POV]

“Can one of you two take me to the ER for my hand?” I ask Andy and CC.

“What happened to your hand?” CC freaked out.

“Oops, should have mentioned that, he hit part of the bed when going ape shift on the fuck face.” Andy looked a bit guilty.

“CC, can you take him since I still have to get cleaned up? I’ll fill Ash and Riley in while you’re gone.” Andy said as headed to the bathroom.

“Let’s go CC. My fingers are still tingling and I’m kind of getting worried.”

“No problem, I hope nothing is broken. I don’t want anyone else hurting!” CC looked at my swelling hand.

“I’ll be okay. Worst case, my parts for the record are delayed or Jinxx plays more. No worrying for now.”

“Let’s go. I’ll fill you in on what went on downstairs while you were up here.” I could tell he was still worried.

[Matt’s POV]

I sat at the kitchen counter thinking about the day’s events. Everything went smooth for the most part. I should have guessed about the monkey wrench that we were thrown. No changing the past now. I just read over the email from the dean of students at the school. She has no problems with me posing as a student taking exams to protect Jess, and sent me a copy of the schedule and school map.

I noticed CC and Jake heading out.

“Take something to eat with you guys, you may be there a while.” I call out to them.

“Good call Mattman! We’ll be back as soon as we can.” CC said grabbing a couple sandwiches.

“Text me if you need me. We should be all quiet here for a while.”

I went back to planning things out on my tablet, making sure I have a backup for my backups. I will not fuck up.

[Andy’s POV]

I was finally clean and took all our bloody clothes downstairs. I passed by a sleeping Ash and Riley, and saw Matt in the kitchen with some food laid out.

“Matt, where is Riley’s washer and dryer? I don’t want the girls seeing these.”

“Damn, laundry room is the door on the right, the left is the pantry. One of us needs to go for some groceries. It looks like our girls are the queens of take out.” He laughed and shook his head.

“I’ll go, you look busy. I doubt they’d eat what you and Jake do anyway. Where are a set of car keys?”

He tossed me a set, sweet, looks like I’m taking a Riley’s Mustang.

[Jake’s POV]

“Mr. Pitts? The doctor just read over your x-rays. The good news is there are no broken bones, the bad news is that you’ve got some minor tissue damage. She wants you to not use it as much as possible for the next two weeks. If you need to do anything major, have someone help you out. You’ll need to follow up with your regular doctor as soon as you can. Take this script down to the pharmacy and have it filled. It will help with the swelling and discomfort.”

“Thank you ma’am.”

We left the ER and headed to the pharmacy. After picking up my meds, we headed back home.

“I am beyond glad that’s all it is!” I say to CC.

“So are the rest of us.” He breathed.

“I’m hungry. Let’s grab something on the way back. I’m thinking sushi.” My stomach rumbled at the thought.

“I’m thinking burgers. We’ll stop at the grocery while we’re out.”

“Works for me!”

We get to the grocery closest to the house and see Riley’s Mustang.

“Guess Andy or Matt came out already. The girls didn’t have any actual food in the house.

Just take out and minor sandwich stuff.” CC told me.

“I have a prank idea!” I shouted in the little car.

“I don’t care what it is, I’m in.” CC grinned.

“Jess and Riley keep a spare set of the other’s keys in the glove box. Let’s move Riley’s car and park this one where we can watch the panic.”

I grabbed the keys to the Mustang and we got to work. I quickly hopped back in with CC and we waited.

[Andy’s POV]

I dug the keys out of my pocket as I pushed the packed cart out of the store. I made my way to where I swear I parked the car and came to a dead stop. Where the fuck is the car? I could have sworn I parked next to this blue Mini Cooper. Oh my God, someone stole Riley’s car, she’s going to kill me! I panicked, my head whipping around as I walked a bit further down the aisle. Ok, there it is, phew. I guess I didn’t pay attention to the truck parked next to me. I pop the trunk, get all the groceries in, and unlock the car. I go to open the door, but it’s relocked itself. I push the button again, and watch it relock itself immediately. Okay, I’ll try
using the key. It happens again.

“WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU CAR?” I shout at it.

I grab the handle and unlock it as quick as I can while snatching the door open. Success! I get in and before I can start the car, the alarm starts going off, and I can’t get it to stop.

“I give up!” I put my head on the wheel and keep trying buttons. I try putting the key in and starting the car.

“BINGO!” after ten minutes of fighting the car I can go back to the house.

[Jake’s POV]

CC and I are nearly in tears from our little joke on Andy.

“CC, we need to get home before he does, better step on it!”

We’re still laughing as we walked in the door, minutes before Andy. No one is questioning why we’re laughing, thankfully. We join Ash and Riley in the living room and start watching whatever Riles had turned on.

[Andy’s POV]

I walk into the house with some of the bags, “Can someone give me a hand with these?”

CC, Jake, Ash and Matt stand up clapping at me.

“Ha-ha, very funny guys. There’s a ton of stuff in the trunk.”

CC and Ashley walk out with me to get it all put away.

[Jake’s POV]

As soon as they’re out the door I filled Riley in on what we did to Andy, and had her go along with what we did.

[Riley’s POV]

“I can’t believe you guys did that Jake, that’s hysterical! I’m so in!”

“I’m glad. It’ll make it even funnier.”

They guys put everything up and came in to the living room to relax. It had been a stressful day. Ash handed me a hot cup of tea as he sat in the floor in front of me, leaning onto my legs.

“Riley, I hope you don’t mind I used your car to get groceries, CC and Jake had Jessa’s.”

Andy looked at me with worry.

“It’s no problem Andy. Whatever you guys need while you’re here, use it. You’ve already done so much to help me save Jessa.”

“I think there is a problem with the locks though.” He explained the problem.

“Andy, are you sure? I know Lola is a bit old, but she’s a trustworthy girl. I don’t think I’ll have the money to fix her. Maybe I should sell her before we move.” I looked to him, my lip trembling at the thought. “Do you think I could sell her that quick?”

“Riles, don’t sell Lola! I’ll have her looked over by a mechanic after we it to LA. I don’t want you to give her up.” Andy urged me.

“Andy, you don’t have to do that. It’s an old car, maybe after I get a job in LA with a designer I can get a new car. Maybe a motorcycle.”

Ash looked up to me with a smile as I sipped my tea. “Babe, you’re not getting on a motorcycle unless it’s mine. As for looking for a designer to work with, you’re hired.”

“Riley, I’m so sorry about Lola. I will get her fixed. I took her out when she had problems. Don’t worry.” This was killing him.

“I can’t take it anymore! CC and Jake had my spare set of keys in Jessa’s car. They saw Lola in the parking lot at the store and had to mess with you. It was funny as hell I saw the video.” I confessed and everyone but Andy laughed.

“You assholes. For that, you’re the ones making dinner.” He got up and grabbed a beer and went out to the deck to smoke.

“You’ve gotten almost a thousand views on YouTube already!” CC shouted.

[Ashley’s POV]

“You two did it, you two cook.”

Jake and CC got up and went to the kitchen and got to work.

“If anyone needs me, I’m going to check on Jinxx and Jessa, then for a swim.” Matt said stretching.

Riley shifted a bit, trying to get comfortable.

“Riley, I mean what I said about the job. I saw your sketches in your office earlier. You’ve got
an amazing amount of talent. I’m starting a clothing line and want you to come on board.”

“Oh my gosh, Ash! Are you sure? I’d love to!” She threw her arms around my shoulders hugging me from the recliner.

“Of course I’m sure Riley. I need someone with similar design tastes and skill. I wouldn’t offer if I didn’t like you and your designs.”

[Riley’s POV]

“You won’t regret this Ash!” I smiled leaning over hugging him again, planting a kiss on his stubble covered cheek.

“Isn’t it taboo to kiss your boss?” He smirked.

[Jinxx’s POV]

Jess has been sleeping for a few hours, every now and then she stirs in a panic. I start humming to her and brush my hand across her cheek or over her hand, and she settles back down. I should probably take a nap too. It’s been a long night and day. I was beginning to fall asleep when I hear footsteps coming down the hall followed by someone knocking softly.

“Come in.” I whisper.

Matt walks in and comes to my side of the bed.

“I’ve got everything situated with her school. I’ve got everything figured out if Dylan tries anything. I even have several escape routes figured out. Nothing else will happen. She doesn’t have to walk if she doesn’t want to or if we feel she’s in danger.”

“Thanks Matt. I know it means a lot to her and Jake.”

“Do you need one of us to bring you two anything? I know you won’t leave her side, you’re a great friend. She appreciates you as much as you did the guys. Maybe more.” Matt patted my foot.

I frowned and looked down to the sleeping beauty next to me.

“I’m actually starving, I know she will be when she wakes up. I just hope I can get her to eat.”

“The guys are working on dinner now, I’ll make sure they bring something up to you. Jake will probably bring it up to check on her too. In the meantime, catch a nap. You look exhausted.”

With that Matt left the room and closed the door. He’s right. I settle in and close my eyes for a bit.

[Jake’s POV]

I look to CC, “So grill and chill night?”

“Definitely! Today’s been beyond crazy.” He said passing me a pack of chicken from the fridge.

I start digging through the cabinets for seasonings.

“Heads up,” CC tosses me a beer, “You look like you need this.”

“Thanks man. Hey Ash, could you come here a sec?”

[Ashley’s POV]

I stand up and turn to Riley “I’ll be back. You want some more tea when I come back in?”

“I’d love some.” She handed me her mug and I let my hands linger on hers, then walked to the kitchen.

“Ash, wait a sec…” she called to me.

I turned back around to her “Yeah sweetie?”

“Thank you for taking care of us, of me. I barely know you, I mean, I know your public persona and work, but we don’t know each other well. I guess what I’m saying is, I’d like to get to know the real you. Even if you’re technically my boss now.” She spilled all at once while staring at my feet.

I walked back to her, lifting her chin “Hey, look at me.”

Her big grey blue eyes meeting mine.

“You’re an astonishing woman, and I’d love to get to know you more.” I kiss her forehead and walk into the kitchen.

“What’s up guys?” I look to CC and Jake.

“Can you do start the grill and light the torches around the deck? We’ve called a grill and chill night.”

“Sure. I’ll hop to it after I finish making some more tea for Riley.” I smiled when her name left
my lips.

Jake and CC looked at me funny. “Yes, I like her okay. We’ve decided to get to know each other slowly. There’s just something about her.”

“Has our Purdy boy met his match in the lovely Riley? I vote yes. Jake?” CC’s grin couldn’t get bigger.

“Oh I think he has CC. She’s just like he is, but more feisty.” Jake laughed.
I shook my head and took Riles her tea.

“Why don’t you take your tea and go get a hot bath and relax for a while? We’re taking care of dinner. We’ll be done in thirty to forty five minutes.” She nodded and turned to go and I couldn’t help it.

I smacked her firm round ass and grinned as she yelped and giggled. She didn’t look back before disappearing into her room. I set out to finish my task at hand.
