The Puppet Master

*Emilie's POV *

The boys shepherded us to the door, stopping us by the font.
"Okay, then." Andy demanded. "Talk."
"No, you talk first!" Jenny snapped. "Why did you yell at Emilie when she saw at the font thingy!?"
"The correct term is looked, Jenny-babe." Jinxx smiled sadly.
Jenny-babe? WTF?
"It is? Great that's going to keep me awake. Still! I want answers! Why did you yell at Emilie for pointing at the font?"
It dawned on me that I'd never told her and she'd been looking the other way when I'd flashed my arms before Ashley hid them for me by conjuring a jacket.
There was no other way to tell her.
Silently I rolled up my sleeve. "He was yelling because he saw this."
I saw the pain fill her eyes.
"I was getting better but my boyfriend split with me and my dad and brother have to go to war again in a few days and my gran died and I just lost so much in such a short time I got numb and I had to feel something." I tried explaining.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She cried.
"Because I know what you're like. I know how you worry."
Ashley took me by surprise and wrapped an arm around me. Then CC did the same. Andy hid a jealous glare (or it looked like one) and followed suit.
Before I knew it, me and Jenny were trapped in a vicious enforced group hug.
"Guys... guys, do you want to hear the news or what?" I giggled.
All except CC let go. "CC you're suffocating me with your armpit hair!"
He let go. "I'm sorry. But I love you and I can't bear the thought of you feeling like that."
"Aww...But the font! It's a map!" I exclaimed, grabbing CC's hand and pulling him over.

Me and Jenny stood on opposite sides once more waiting for the glow.
"Is something meant to happen?" Jake asked.
"It's not working!" Jenny moaned.
"We weren't stood this way. That must be why. Move around a compass point, Jen!" I realized.
We both moved and the light engaged again.
"Woah." Muttered Ashley.
"Understatement of the century, Ash." Andy whispered halfheartedly.
"There's more of them!" Jenny exclaimed.
She was right.
"It must only show filters who are currently dreaming." I said as a light went out in Australia. "It's about 9 am in Australia."
"So where are we? There should be 7 clumped together shouldn't there?" Jake asked.
" No, I think it shows the physical location of our bodies instead of our astral location." I answered.
"Then why are there none in Germany?" Jenny asked.
"I don't know." I answered honestly as I stepped away.
Andy stood in my spot. He looked glumly at the now blank water.
"Am I doing it right?"
"No clue." I answered.
"Maybe it only works for you and Jenny." Ash suggested.
"Probably. I mean, you and Jenny can access each other's dreams too so maybe you're linked?" Jake added.
CC shrugged. "Can't we solve this later? I mean, there's far better things we could be doing. These people are out there, alone and trying to deal with this ability. We should go out and find them."
Andy smiled. "What do you guys say?"
"Yes!" We all yelled. Little did we know that we were changing the world and finding our most potent enemy simultaneously.
