The Puppet Master

*Jenny's POV*
"So, we know that this is Emilie - but what's your name?" Jinxx saw at me.

I used to read tons of fanfictions - most of them were smut. Now I regretted every chapter I clicked on... Some scenes I imagined were now stuck on my mind. Jinxx's blue eyes made me feel so weak. They looked like he knew about the things I've read.

"My name is uh-" I shortly stopped to pick the pieces of my shattered brain together "Jenny"
Wow, now it seemed like I was too stupid to say my name.
Well done, Jenny, well done...
"You don't have to introduce yourself" Em said "I think we both know who you are"
CC laughed "Weird coincidence! It's always interesting to meet new fans"
"So uh" I still stuttered "Why are we here?"
The guy's glances shortly commuted between each other. Emilie and I knew that they had to tell us a long story.
"Let's start at the beginning" Jake explained "there aren't many people like us. We call ourselves "flitters" because we can flit through dimensions. Of course you shouldn't tell anyone about it - they'll think you'd go crazy. We decided to use our power to help people. CC and I visit suicidal people to tell them that everything will be ok"
"Jinxx and I are making music for deaf people so they don't forget what music sound like" Andy told us
"And I go to terminally ill people" Ashley said

Wow, they all did something good for people in distress instead of having fun... They offered their whole gift to them. That touched my heart.

"Emilie, I visited your grandmother" Ash suddenly had a very low and calm voice "she wanted me to visit you, she said you needed someone"
I didn't know about her grandmother but it seemed like it was very serious. Emilie was pale and a little frozen in my opinion
Ashley talked on "So I wanted to visit you in your dreams but all I was able to see was darkness. Flitters can't see each other's dreams - only an empty, dark room. So I knew there had to be someone"
"Can't be" I interrupted him "Emilie and I had the exact same dreams. That's also why we both wanted to enter your minds together"
"It might be that you two have a special connection. Maybe you have a shared mind?" Jake guessed
I shrugged "Maybe"
"We first thought you could find us on your own but at the beginning it's really hard to flit around and it isn't easy to find a room you don't even know" Jinxx said
"We know you two were about to overestimate your power - everyone new does" Andy continued "so we waited for you in the waking up dimension. It's something like the way you go when you're about to wake up. So when we saw you two we picked you up from there to bring you here"
Emilie nodded "I have a last question: how do you stop dreaming and wake up on your own?"
"You walk along the dimension we picked you up from" CC said
"I have an idea... We could help you starting to flit and teach you in general so you can use your power responsibly. I mean when do you meet some other flitters? Usually never. You could help people, too"
BVB agreed - so did Emilie and I. It sounded really good to get taught in this new part of my life.

My phone rang. Again, I couldn't wake up on my own! It was so annoying now that I knew how to stop dreaming and I still had no chance
It was Leyla who has sent me a message.
"Don't forget to learn for your french test! (:"
The bright display of my phone made me realize the sharp pain in my head. I quickly put it away.
I wanted to be angry but I couldn't. She just wanted to be nice...
And there was a chance to try it out the next night anyway..
