No One Does It Better

I stayed in the hospital for three days, just recovering and enjoying my time with the babies. I was currently sat up in my bed, holding baby Matthew with Ashley next to me holding Noah and Anne Marie.

"Look! He's got your nose!" I said excitedly, pointing to Matthew's nose. Ashley chuckled.

"You're adorable, Audrey," Ashley said. I looked over and smiled at him. The door opened, and Ashley and I looked up as Juliet entered the room with a shy smile.

"Hi," she said approaching Ashley and me.

"Hi... what are you doing here?" I asked softly. She shrugged her shoulders.

"Andy called me and told me you'd had the babies. I was surprised when he told me it was triplets. So, I hopped on the subway and... poof! Here I am," she said. I smiled gently.

"I'm glad you could make it. Are you and Andy alright?" I asked. She shrugged again.

"He didn't really say anything to me when I showed up. I was surprised he'd called me at all," she said.

"Well, we are really glad you made it," Ashley said. I looked at him, smiling wide when he offered to let her hold Noah. She took him from him, cradling him in her arms. I bit my lip just as my doctor entered the room, closing the door silently.

"How are you holding up?" He asked.

"I'm great," I said, my smile never leaving my lips. He smiled as well.

"Awesome. So you're okay to go. Just to let you know, there was probably some vaginal tearing, so expect some pain for a few weeks. If it gets bad, just come back in, and we'll give you something for it, okay?" He asked. I nodded.

"Thank you," I said.

"You're welcome. And congratulations, you two," he said, and he handed me the discharge papers. He left the room, and Ashley stood up. He took Matthew from me so I could stand up myself. I was quite shaky on my feet, but it wasn't very bad. I gathered my clothes and headed to the bathroom to change. I looked at myself in the mirror after taking off the hospital gown. My breasts were definitely bigger than they were, and I had stretch marks on my belly, along with baby fat. I looked dead tired, which I still was. I still looked like I could be two or three months pregnant, but at least I could see my feet now.

I quickly put on my clothes, and I returned to Ashley and Juliet. I gathered all of my things, and I slung the backpack I had over my shoulders. We walked out to the hallway where Andy was the only one waiting, and he stood up and took Matthew from Ashley. Juliet handed me Noah, and she hugged me goodbye, leaving the three of us standing in the hallway.

"I'm sorry I was so hard on you guys in the beginning..." Andy said suddenly. I looked up at him and smiled.

"Andy... none of that matters anymore. We're here now, with these three gorgeous babies brought into our little family," I said. Andy smiled.

"You are one tough nut, Audrey. I don't think I'd ever be able to do this," Andy said.

"What? Have kids? Or push three babies out of your vagina?" I asked.

"Both," he said with a chuckle, making me laugh. We walked down the hallway and back to the elevator. We made it to the waiting room, and we left the hospital, heading over to our car. Ashley had put in the car seats, and we all buckled a baby in, making sure they were in right. I opened the passenger door, setting my backpack on the floor in front of the seat. I turned to Ashley and Andy, smiling at both of them.

"I love you guys so much," I said, bringing them both into a hug. Andy kissed my temple and hugged me individually before leaving, and I turned to Ashley. He wrapped his arms around my waist, and I wrapped mind around his neck. It felt good to be close to him again. I pressed a kiss upon his lips, and he kissed me back sweetly before breaking the kiss and helping me into the car. He closed the door as I buckled up, and he walked around the front of the car over to the driver's side.

I couldn't wait to get home.
