Written In Blood

Hailz POV
I heard Starr pull into the driveway, and soon after the front door opened and slammed shut.
"Alex, Damon, Hailz, Jan I got dinner!" she shouted out to us.
I looked over to her and saw her dragging two guys and had two take out bags.
If you were wondering why she has the take-out bags it's because of Damon, our drummer.
He's not exactly comfortable with who he is.
You see, although this sounds stupid, he's the real version of Stephan from Vampire Diaries.
The difference is that he comes from a long line of vampires, his entire family is just vampires.
And there isn't that weird love triangle and strange self-righteousness thing going on like the show adds in. Other than that, the show is fairly accurate.
Back to what I was saying before I went into the whole Vampire Diaries thing.
There was just one problem with his family.
His parents were so ashamed of who they were that they did all they could to be more human.
They told all the humans they befriended that they were vegetarians.
Or was it vegans, I honestly can't remember.
The point of it is that they didn't feed on humans.
They made strange concoctions and even got a witch to make a potion that would pretty much make Damon human.
Unfortunately, there was a catch.
If Damon did one thing that was against human law, he would be reverted back to a vampire.
His parents were so grateful for the opportunity that they used the potion and raised him with an iron fist.
What they didn't know was that their methods drove him to rebel and do the thing that led him back to vampiredom.
That's another story though.
So here we are with a vampire that doesn't know the first thing about being a vampire, and his mind set on eating the food he has always eaten even though going bloodless will pretty much kill him.
What he doesn't know is that Starr puts blood instead of ketchup on his burgers so that he won't suffer, and he doesn't know the difference.
Story time is over now, lets get back to what's happening.
"Hey Babe! Did you remember to put extra ketchup on my burger and fries this time? Cause last time you forgot." Damon inquired.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that Damon and Starr are dating? Well now you know.
"Yep, it's practically swimming in it." she replies after quickly kissing him.
Aw they're so cute together.
In a flash Jan-Felix (aka Jan) and Alex come down and look at the two corpses still oozing blood that are on the counter.
"Are we going raw tonight, or are you going to cook it up like humans do?" Jan asked.
"I feel like raw would be a nice change for tonight" Starr says while Damon makes a face that screams 'god that sounds so gross but looks kinda good but I'm gonna stick with my burger'.
"Where did you pick up these two and what did they do that made them are dinner?" Alex asked. You see, he's against feeding on the innocent too.
"Did them off in an alley and they were rapists"
"Good, they deserved this then" He says with anger in his voice.
Jan and Alex are shifters but unlike Alex, Jan doesn't care where his food comes from as long as he gets it.
Right now, I'm personally on a vegetarian kick, so I go to the fridge for some veggies and tofu. One things for sure, doing vegetarian the human way isn't so bad. I kinda enjoy it.
After we're done eating Starr stands up and makes her 'I need to say something' gesture.
"Okay guys, in case you forgot, tonight is our last night here before Warped. This has been all of our dreams ever since we got started in music, and I just wanna say that I'm glad I'm going to be living my dream with all of you. Anyways, if you haven't finished packing, I suggest you do so now. Just do so quickly because I want to get in one last practice before we start this thing, so practice in let's say... one hour."
"Aw you got a little mushy for a second there, dog girl" I joke.
"Aw looks like I forgot to take my 'be a bitch' pills today. Sorry, ape girl" She retorts.
I really love how our friendship works.
One by one we all left the kitchen, and started to finish up our packing.
By the sound of things Starr and Damon have already finished.
If you catch my drift ;).
Once I'm done packing I just kinda fool around until I hear people going down to our practice room. It's show time.
I walked down to our basement/practice room and closed the door. It's not very soundproof with the door open. I saw everyone prepping for rehearsals.
Starr's POV
After Damon and I finished "packing" we headed down to the practice room.
I set up my mic and checked the amps while he made sure everything was good with his drums.
Next to come in was Jan and Alex. Alex plugged in his bass and plucked on the strings to make sure it was in tune, and Jan did the same with his and Hailz's guitar. Wow, don't they have it easy once I make sure that the amps are in tip top shape... Just kidding, they do a lot more for this band than I do. I just sing and write about half of the songs.
Hailz was the last to come down, of course, she sometimes gets a little distracted.
She comes in and closes the door so our soundproofing will work.
When you're in a band it's best to have the place you practice soundproofed so you can practice whenever you want.
She grabs her guitar and does a test strum to make sure Jan did things right, and she decides it's good.
"Okay guys, what song do you wanna do first?" Damon asks.
I suggest Book of Secrets while Hailz suggests The Wolf's Trap.
Of course it leads to another one of our friendly fights.
Funny story about The Wolf's Trap. It's had two other names before we got to that one, and even now we don't know if it's going to stay as that name. I personally liked when we called it 'Shit, song titles are hard to come up with' but for some good reasons we decided that it wasn't meant to be.
"Why don't we do Book of Secrets first since it's newer and we've had less practice with it. Wolf's Trap was one of our first songs, we have it down." Jan states.
Everyone nods in agreement now that he puts it into that perspective, and we start up the song.
