Lost It All (On Hold)
Chapter 1
I wake up and pound my fist on my alarm clock. Damn, another day in Hell. I think as I head into the bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror and see the mass of tangles that is my hair. I get to work on getting the knots out when I see my razor on the counter.
"Maddy, are you up yet? Breakfast is almost ready!" I push the blade into the trash, the temptation falling with it.
"Yeah! Be right there!" I finally finish on my hair and slump downstairs for breakfast. I smell eggs and bacon before I even get to the dining room.
"Here you go dear. Well, you seem like you didn't have a really good sleep." Mom says, setting my plate down in front of me. I look up and see her staring me down.
"No, not really. I kept tossing and turning, preparing for another day in Hell." I say, stuffing a forkful of eggs into my mouth. I finish my breakfast fastly and head back up to the bathroom for a shower. Almost running into my room, I head to the closet and pick out my clothes for the day. Hmmm, how about a Motley Crue shirt, black and red checkered skinnies, band bracelets, leather jacket, and black converse. As I head out the door to my car, I pick up my backpack, phone, and obviously, keys. I slam the door and walk down the driveway, and see Tyler and Shanel running up to my car and jumping in.
"Hey! Did you miss me?" I yell, hopping into my car and starting it up.
"Well DUH! Why wouldn't we?" Tyler says, grabbing onto my shoulder. I smile and look back at him.
"I can't guess why. Maybe there is no reason to NOT miss me!"
"Hey, I exist too!" Shanel yells at me, while I pull into the school parking lot. We get out and I hug her.
"I know you exist. You and Tyler are my world." I whisper, suddenly serious. She giggles at me and I start to join in.
"Wait, I don't get it. What's so funny?!" Tyler grabs my waist and spins me around to face him.
"Oh, nothing. Just something I said to Shanelly." I burst into another giggle fit and give Tyler a peck on the cheek.
"Damn, I didn't know you had feelings for me." He says, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
"Yeah, well. What can I say? Oh wait, I have best friend feelings. Not boyfriend feelings." I say giggling some more. Just then, Macee and her 'Copycat Crew' walk up.
"Why, hello Madyline. I see you have your gay band's bracelets on again. Do you not want people to see your scars?" She cackles and starts to walk away.
"If you want to see my scars, come check my wrists." I say, holding them out.
"Why would I want to touch a skank's arm? That's just fucking disgusting." She laughs again and just then Chase comes up. I roll my eyes and send a 'Could-this-day-get-any-worse?' look and we start walk off.
"Hey, get back here! I wasn't finished with you!" Macee catches up to me and grabs my wrist to spin me around but I wiggle out of her grasp.
"I thought you didn't want to touch a skank's arm." I hollor, picking up my speed to a full on sprint, Shanel and Tyler yelling at me to slow down. I don't stop until I get to the park and climb my favorite tree. God, I just want to leave this fucking town so goddamn bad. Two more months. Just two more months.
