chapter 17
God I need a shower. "Did you have fun last night Tum." Max says wiggling his eyebrows. Does he know about me and Ashley?
"Nice hair Tum." Ronnie smirks.
"So who's the poor guy that got his heartbroken this morning after the best night of his life?" Jacky asks dramatically.
I roll my eyes and smile, "You guys can besuch pricks sometimes you know that right." I walk into the small bathroom and start the hot water. I look in the mirror and see that I'm grinning like an idiot. I like the whole smiling thing it's defiantly something I could get used to. I get undressed and step into the shower. The hot water feels so good on my sore muscles.
After a few minutes of just standing there I begin to wash off all of my make-up. That includes the eyeliner, and the stuff on my arms hips and thighs that cover up those scars. As well as the make-up on my stomach, shoulders, and my spine that covers up all of the surgical scars.
Stephen, my "brother" calls the ones on my shoulder blades my angel wings. They're from skin grafts and burns. Memories from that night flood into my mind. The fire, the screaming, the pain, then darkness. When I woke up a few months later I found out that over sixty percent of my body was burned. They had to take out a lot of organs, and I had a few transplants. They didn't know if I could do a lot of the things that I could do before. But the worst thing that they told me was that my parents didn't make it. I haven't cried that much since.
The fire still haunts my dreams nine years later. It's why I don't sleep because every time I do it's there, and I wake up screaming. So I just eliminate the problem and don't sleep. I mean I crash eventually and when I do it's horrible, but what are you going to do?
I turn the water off and step out of the shower. I look at the scars that run from the top of my face on the left side that run down my cheeks, over my nose and lips, and crosses over to the right side and down my neck. I get my concealer and a brush out of my make-up bag and begin to work.
