Something More?

The ride to Chicago was long and boring. The guys all went to their separate corners of the world while the staff did the final prep. By the time we hit the road it was two in the afternoon and the guys had gotten ready and finished their various tasks. John worked on our schedule, planning out our time while Ashley looked into any possible parties. I think he was still a little upset about being woken up with loud music but he was pouting quietly, in the back of the bus. Celestia spent the day crammed in her bunk, playing some video game on her laptop and occasionally uttering a string of foul words. Jinxx laid in his bunk, mumbling into his cell, most likely catching up with his wife. Jake watched stared absentmindedly out the window for most of the trip, responding to a text every now and then. CC had a good 15 minute conversation with who I assumed to be his girl, then proceeded to go back to sleep.
I was left to restlessly pace the bus, feeling bored and lonely. All the guys have someone, except for Ash who seems to have everyone he wants, and with nothing to do but think it was starting to get to me. Who could I possibly even want to have a relationship with? I don’t want to find some obsessive girl that likes the idea of me more than me, but at the same time I don’t want to find some starstruck bimbo that is so full of themselves that I hardly matter.
“Dude, you look like you’re gonna puke. Go talk to the doc.” Jake called from his seat on the couch, I guess he was done looking out the window.
“No, that’s not necessary.”
“Ok, if you’re sure. Oh, got a text.” Jake started typing on his phone, once again ignoring those within the bus.
I sighed and shook my head, figuring I would eventually shrug off the annoying sentimentality.
After a certain point everyone started heading to bed, though the driver kept the bus moving toward Chicago. I threw on some pajamas and flopped face first into my bunk. I didn’t feel tired, in fact I felt like I should be running a marathon. Still, I tried to get some sleep…
And I waited…
Eventually I gave up, and when I felt the bus stop moving for a very long period of time I decided to get up and go check where we were.
“Hey, are we near Chicago?”
“Yeah, we’re there. Parked at the overnight lot that was reserved. Why are you still up?”
“Can’t sleep.” I nodded my thanks to the bus driver and headed out of the bus, pack of cigarettes in hand. Once I lit the deadly stick I could feel myself relax slightly, embracing the blissful feeling that the smoke brought me.
“Andy, the fuck are you doing out here?” I turned to the buses door to see CC scratching the back of his head.
“Needed a smoke.”
“What? When’s the last time you smoked a fuckin’ cigarette?”
I took a long drag before replying, “Don’t know. Why does that matter?”
“Because you’re you. You smoke non stop until we go on tour with some chick from you're past and then suddenly you start smoking again. Come on dude, what’s up?”
I sighed and took another drag of my cigarette. “I keep thinking about everyone else in the band having a girl, except Ash who doesn’t count. It’s been bugging me all day, and keeping me up”
“Oh boy, our little Andy’s finally growing up.” I cocked an eyebrow.
“Says the manchild.”
“Dude, you want more out of your life! That’s a big ass deal. You just gotta figure out what exactly you want…”
CC patted me on the back and headed back inside, leaving me to finish my cigarette in silent confusion. What the hell did he mean?
