Something More?

I sat in that chair for what seemed like an eternity. Andrew sat beside me in silence, though every thought that went through his mind clearly displayed on his face. He looked like his mind was going a mile a minute.
“So… What happened?” My voice was hoarse and monotonous.
“We got swarmed by fans and one of them jumped on me.” Simple enough, right?
“Ok… I think I need time to wander.”
“Why? Are you angry or jealous or sad or something?”
"No, I'm not mad... Just tired." I sighed finally realizing what I really wanted to know.
What are we? It would be so simple to just say those three words but for some reason I couldn't. There was a pain in my chest and a tightness in my throat that stopped me from speaking again. The feeling was so foreign yet so familiar at the same time, almost like the one I get when I have an anxiety attack, not a pleasant sensation. "I'm gonna wander a bit, I'll meet you back at the bus before the show."
Andrew clenched his fist till his knuckles turned white, but said nothing. I got up to leave the café when the rest of BVB walked in. I sighed and walked past them. When I got out into the mall I looked around for something, anything, to do when I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. I spun around to see Ashley standing behind me.
"Let's talk."
Ash lead me to a quiet corner of the mall where I basically collapsed on the carpeted floor. Ashley sat down next to me and handed me something.
“My camera?”
“Yeah, I got what happened with the fan girls on camera for you.” He gave me a sincere smile and motioned for me to play from the point he had already set it to.
I played the video and watched silently as a herd of giggling girls rushed into Hot Topic. They swarmed the guys and started asking various questions that got progressively more heated, than one of the girls near Andrew threw herself at him. In a moment she had herself wrapped around him and was kissing him, all the while he tried to get the girl off of him. The feeling that had been restricting my words faded slightly. I handed the camera back to Ashley, not wanting it anywhere near me for some reason.
“So, why are you really upset?”
“For an idiot you sure are smart… I don’t know what I am to Andrew. And I don’t fully know what I want to be to him.”
“Ah. Well, I think he’s in the same boat as you on that one. You mean a lot to him.”
“How do you know that?”
“Let me tell you a story. One day the lead singer of a band gets a call out of the blue, when he sees the caller ID his face lights up and he runs out of the room to take the call as if he had won the lottery. Then the bassist for that band goes outside to see what’s up and learns that his friend is talking to a mean, loud mouthed girl, which inevitably leads to much teasing from his friend and the rest of the band. Despite this the singer devotes his time to the girl before eventually asking the rest of the band to let her come on tour with them. The girl agrees, but within the first week of tour she got wasted to the point that she acted like a different person. But the singer stayed true to unspoken morals and kept the girl out of trouble, never once taking advantage of the situation. The rest of the band was intrigued because the singer gave this girl his time without asking for anything in return, which was not a common occurrence. Then the band goes out to the mall. They are crowded by fans, and one kisses the singer. But he doesn’t enjoy himself, he turns the fan away and goes to set things right with the girl. Would you say that the singer cares for the girl?” I nodded. “I’m sure that they will work everything out in the end.”
“Thanks Ashley. Lets go back.”
