Something More?

I busted into the apartment I share with Ai to be greeted by whatever tv show Ai was watching. She sat on the couch, unaware of my presence thanks to how loud the volume was. I shut the door and snuck up behind her then grabbed her shoulders and yelled at her.
"What was that for?!" Ai paused the show and looked at me. "Holy shit, who fixed you?!"
"Huh? Whatever. Andrew just invited me to go on tour with him and his band as their staff paramedic!" Ai squealed in delight at the news.
"When do you leave?"
"Three days."
"That's not much notice, you have to pack and call everyone. Are you sure you're going to be ok on tour? What if you have-"
"I'll be fine, I'll have my stuff and Andrew will be there too."
"Fine, but I'm gonna need to have a conversation with your precious 'Andrew'."
"Yeah yeah, whatever. Here, use my cell." I unlocked my phone and handed it to Ai. "I'm gonna go pack!"
I left Ai to call Andrew while I threw what I wanted to take into two duffel bags. I crammed several pairs of clothes, my portable jewelry box, an extra pair of shoes, my toiletries, and a few comforts into the bags then ran out to the kitchen. There I grabbed a ziplock and stuffed all the medication I may need into it, most of the mess being painkillers. Then I grabbed my school/everyday bag and dumped the contents on my bed. I discarded most of the materials, keeping a notebook and some writing utensils along with my mini med kit, then grabbed the large Ned kit out of my closet and stuffed that into the bag along with my bag full of meds. There were a few other things but I would pack those later.
When I walked back out to the living room Ai was nowhere to be seen so I decided to make some phone calls that had to happen sooner or later. After a couple calls Ai came back in and handed me my phone, and I spent the rest of the afternoon making phone calls. For the first time in a long time I was looking forward to something.
