Insanity's Call

In walked absent mindlessly around the new town, Black Sabbath's Paranoid blaring into my ears. They town itself wasn't so bad, I just missed my old home.
I passed my new school.
My mind traced around, I didn't want to move away from my home.
I passed a hospital.
It was strange, it was only ten at night but no one was out.
I walked into a play ground.
There was a young girl sitting on a bench, her shoulders shaking. I sighed and walked over to her.
"What's wrong?" She jumped about ten feet, then looked around, realizing we were alone she turned to me.
"You can... what's your name?"
"I'm Andy." I held out my hand she took it, shaking slightly.
"Jamie." I smiled at her, even though I really didn't feel like it. "So, what's troubling you Andy?' I looked at her briefly, how did she know?
"It's just.. I don't know anyone here, and my parents hate me, and my ex boyfriend raped me, and I'm scarred something like that will happen here." Why was I telling her all of this?
"Well, that's a legitimate fear." She told me, lifting herself to sit on the back board of the concrete bent and patting the seat next to her. I sat with her, wondering briefly why I suddenly trusted this girl I'd only just met.
"So, what about you Miss Jamie?" I asked, turning to look at her.
"My friends... I can't ever talk to them again unless something changes. They're good people. My boyfriend- ex boyfriend, he's heart broken. I know Drew will look after him, but it's just... still." She trailed off, sadness caught in her eyes.
"That sucks." She smiled bitterly.
"Yeah, well I'm sure Drew loves CC, and Claudia will be fine, Ashley's her friend too."
"Who's Ashley?" I asked, we both knew I was fishing to change the subject.
"He's amazing, and a total sweetheart." She smiled as if remembering something. "Oh my God! Andy, you're going to the high school right over there right?" She asked, pointing to the school I'd passed on the way over. I nodded. "You could hang out with them, help them out! Please? I could help you with your crap, and you could help them!" I didn't want to, but Jamie seemed so exited at the idea, I had to give it to her. She seemed so sweet.
"Sure Jamie."
"Andy, you're the greatest!' She beamed and threw her arms around my neck.
"Alright, let's go walk." She smiled and jumped off the bench. We walked by the hospital first.Five boys and one girl came out, all looking horribly sad.
"That's them. That's Jeremy, but we always call him Jinxx, his boyfriend Jake. Cute, aren't they? That's my ex, CC, and his new boyfriend Drew. Pretty hot right? I got real lucky he loved me. Anyways, that's my best friend Claudia, she's Drew's little sister. And that hot piece of ass is Ashley." I looked at them all prospectively.
"He is pretty cute." I agreed, eyeing him.
"Glad you agree, go introduce yourself, tell them you're lost and need to get to the Diamond Park to meet a friend."
"Okay, you aren't coming." She shook her head.
"I'll meet you there."
"Alright." I took a deep breath and walked over to the group. I smiled brightly and stopped in front of them.
"Hi, I'm Andy, sorry to bother you, but I'm supposed to meet a friend at Diamond Park, and I just moved here, and have no clue where I'm going." I told them quickly. Jinxx, who was holding Jake by the waist held out a hand and shook mine.
'I'm Jinxx, this is my boyfriend Jake."
"I'm CC, this is my boyfriend Drew."
"I'm Claudia, and this is my.. friend Ashley."
"Glad to meet all of you. So you'll help me out?" Ashley turned to everyone else,
"I'll take him. I'll see you guys tomorrow." They all nodded and left, Claudia hugged him tightly before leaving, following Drew and CC.
"So, tell me about yourself Andy." I wanted to tell him all that I'd told Jamie, but something told me to take it slowly with him.
"I just moved here, and you guys just looked... nice." He looked down at his all black clothes and laughed, before looking at my all black except the Batman signal on my chest.
"Fair enough."
"So, you and Claudia?'" He flushed.
'No. nonono. She is- was, Jamie's best friend, and Jamie was a little sister to me. So Claudia's just.. she needs someone with her. And because CC- he was dating Jamie- started dating her brother, she decided on me because Jamie was close to me. I don't even swing that way." I smiled, somehow slightly happier to hear he was gay.
"I don't get the 'swing that way' thing. Like my being gay has anything to do with me going 'whoo' or 'whoo'." I told him, swing my arms and leaning with each 'whoo'. He laughed.
"You gay?' He asked, still chuckling at my joke.
'Oh, yeah." I told him, blushing slightly.
"So, you know Jamie than?" I asked, taking the subject off of my sexual orientation. He smiled slightly, looking down at his feet.
"Yeah, she was great."
"Real funny too, excitable though. Real jumpy."
'"That's what I used to tell her." I smiled at him, not wanting to ask why he was talking as if she wasn't waiting for me at the park. I figured Jamie had done something that upset everyone and they wouldn't want to talk about it.
"I'm sure she misses you." I told him. Noticing his slight smile at my reassurance.
"Not as much as we miss her." He muttered. I figure I wasn't supposed to hear it, so I pretended I hadn't. We walked for a while until we came to a park with a cute little train. Jamie was sitting on top of the little chimney on the front. I smiled and waved but Ash just looked down.
"Here you are." I turned to him, taking one of his hands.
'Listen Ash, thanks, for walking me over."
"Hey, no problem. If you need anything around school just let me know. Since you're new and all you can hang with us if you want." I smiled at him.
"I'd love nothing more."
