My dirt dark wishes
Belladonna POV
I had gotten out of the shower and made it back to my room. It was now 9. I had sat the shower, until the water ran ice cold, trying to numb the guilt I felt inside. "Nothing will be the same," I muttered to myself as I climbed into bed. Tomorrow will be hell on Earth to me. Living another day while someone is not....
I woke up the next morning and for a split second didn't remember what I did. Then Shawn came in with a smile on his face. "You made the news." I felt guilt slam back into me. Damn. I walked out to find the TV on and the news headline red "Local man kills himself because he killed his wife". Well now everyone knows, my mind said in a smartass tone. I rolled my eyes. I was just standing there, looking at the picture they had of Jinxx . He seemed to be a nice guy, looked normal. I heard my phone go off. I pulled it out to find a random number on it. I answered it carefully. "Hello?" There was a pause. "Congrates Belladonna," CC's voice came through. I dropped my shoulders. "sure," I replied. "I didn't think you had it in you to do it soo soon. Hell I didn't even get to show you the ways of street fighting." I could hear that he was proud and shocked. "Well when you think on your toes and know what to do, things tend to work out pretty well." I got off the phone with CC and watched the news some more. " 'Jinxx' as some of his friends call him, had lost his wife about a year ago, in a claimed suicide. Now it looks like the truth has came out. He had killed her. What motive, we simply have no idea," the lady said. Wow....just wow.
I walked over to the table where the bag was still left, looking for the ring I had stolen. It wasn't there. I franticly searched for it. "Looking for something," Shawn asked. I turned around to find him leaning on the wall behind him, holding the ring in between his pointer finger and thumb. I looked at then him, which was a bold move. "Ye-yeah," I stuttered. I wicked smile played on his lips. "Now what would you want with a wedding ring? Hmm?" I looked down at the grown. "You know no one will want to marry a murderer or a theft." I knew he meant to keep me down in my "place", but it hurt. I mean what if no one will marry me? What if my dirty little secretes come out? I just stood there, holding everything in. "Here," he finally said as he tossed the ring at me. I caught it. The ring was beautiful, silver with one big diamond on it. Simple yet complex at the same time. Kinda like me I guess. I looked up at Shawn, but he had his back to me, walking away. "You have to go meet with CC today," he said over his shoulder. "But, I already talked to him. He said.." I was cut off by Shawn's left hand coming down on my cheek. I stumbled back. "Don't talk back! Damnit it is one of the damn rules," he screamed in my face. I shrunk down. I felt him hold my face with his hands, forcing me to look in his dark brown eyes. Those eyes that I feared. "You will NEVER talk back to me. You will LISTEN to me," he said in a hard tone. I nodded. He smiled and pat my cheek he had slapped, then kissed it, making me wince inside, "Good."
