Falling Angels

Andy's POV
I laid there in shock of her explanation. Even in her dreams she would save me. Our love was so intense that she would even sacrifice herself in her subconsciously-fabricated fantasies. 'Or night terrors.' I mentally corrected myself. Realizing that she needed some serious rehabilitation, I pulled her body towards mine and embraced her cold, pale body. "You're cold." I informed her. "Bad circulation." Claire replied. I took her hands in mine and placed them on my cotton-covered chest. I could feel her coldness seep through my shirt, but I didn't care. I was glad to have physical proof that such perfection existed. My hands were cold too, but nothing and nobody could compare to her. If I was a sapphire, she was a diamond. I'm so lucky to have her. I looked down and saw her beautiful, smiling face. It was half concealed by my chest and her eyes were closed. Peacefully closed. Not closed like they were when she tried to suppress her panic or when she was having a night terror. Closed like she had made peace with the world and had finally found the part of her that she was missing her whole life. Me. That part was me. I was both proud and confused of that part. How could she settle for someone so ordinary? Someone like me? Strip away my rock star status and I am just an ordinary man. I wondered what she saw in me. Speaking of seeing, I realized that her eyes had opened and she was softly holding my gaze. It felt like her warm, friendly, peaceful brown eyes omitted an aura that caressed me and reassured me. I was enough. For once, I felt like I was enough. I traced her cheek bone with my thumb and realized that I was smiling back again. No words were needed. We both knew. She was the yin to my yang and I was the yang to her yin.
