[Part Forty-Six] Unsure Smiles
...17 Weeks Pregnant…
I had to go to another appointment, and lately I still haven’t been on good terms with Andy. Although he was allowing me to make my own choices, but I still felt like he was angry and it made me upset. So I called up CC. He was the only other person that I told about me being pregnant.
“CC?” I asked into the phone.
“Yeah?” He responded.
“Can you uh...take me to my next appointment? It is tomorrow?”
“Mhm, what time should I be there at?” I gave him the information and he hung up.
...The Next Day…
I got ready and I heard a car horn from my window.
“Andy! I’m leaving!” I shouted, grabbing my phone and running out of the door. I climbed into the car, and that’s when I finally noticed how scared I was again. This was the appointment where I was going to find out what gender the baby was, and since Andy was being a dick lately I didn’t bring him along. Instead, I was bringing his friend, and I didn’t even tell him.
Once we arrived we walked inside and sat down, waiting for my name to be called.
“Thank you for coming with me, it means a lot,” I said to CC, looking up at him. He looked down at me.
“No problem, but you know...it should be Andy with you, and not me,” He responded. I nodded and sighed.
“Andy and I haven’t been on good terms lately, and it has been stressing me out so much. And I’m so scared about everything and he isn’t exactly being very supportive.” I said. CC grabbed my hand and squeezed it reassuringly. He was the one there when Andy was out, the one who comforted me while I was crying. He took care of me.
“I understand, if you want-” CC began.
“(NAME)?” The nurse said. I looked at CC and gave him an unsure smile, and we both stood up and followed her. I followed her directions, and I felt so nervous. Was it going to be a boy or girl?
“Everything looks healthy and good, just like last visit. We are also able to determine the gender today. Would you like to know today, or is it going to be a surprise?” The nurse asked.
“I’d like to know, please,” I asked her. The nurse smiled at me.
“Well, the baby is a…”
I loved it. Amazing story
