Little Biersack

Stepping over the edge?

"How it go?" Dad asked as I entered the car.
"It went very well actually. No problems what's so ever today." "Really?" I nod. "That's a nice change... You look beautiful." "Thanks Pops." He smiles and we were on our way to his house. "I heard there was a tour coming soon... When?"
"In two months."
"Can you go prom dress shopping with me?" I said, looking at him.
"Tyson?" I nod. "Maybe, is your mom going?" I nod.

"Why don't you and mom start over again? Juliet is out of your life, mom's practically drooling over you , still , although she likes to deny, and you two make a beautiful couple, and not into that, but that'll save me from weekend changes."

My dad keeps his eyes on the road. I guess he was in deep thought, I told my mom the same thing yesterday, she told me she didn't know what to do. I guess they're just scared, I would be pretty scared too, I mean, 15 years almost 16 without seeing each other, and then BOOM, the kid wants the parents together, it must be a lot to take in. Dad stayed quiet till we got home, and I was afraid I told him the wrong thing. "Dad?" He ignores me and I just let out a defeated sigh. "I'll be in my room." I said softly, he turns to the kitchen and I walk up to the guest room which was now painted a soft grey, and had Christmas lights right on the frame of the closet. I put my stuff down and quickly changed out of my dress. I got my oversize shirt and some sweats. I take off my makeup, and put my hair in a high ponytail. I grab my backpack and take out my homework and put in my headphones and listened to music, as I finished my art homework. About an hour later, I finished my drawing and went out to the kitchen. There was a small bright yellow post it that read

'Went to Ashley's. Be Back before 8 with take out. -Dad'

Great.

I threw away the little note as I opened the freezer. I got out frozen strawberries, the vanilla ice cream he had there and decided to make a shake. I pop some waffles into the toaster while i put the ingredients to blend. The toaster makes a little ding, I grab a plate, and showered the waffles in honey. I pour my shake, put in my silly straw and sat down in the living room, and put on Netflix. By 7:30 I couldn't keep my eyes open, although I really want take out... By 7:40 I was out.
