The nurse handed me a blanket and a pillow as I laid down in the small sofa they had in Machiala's room. "We have to inform you that he had to put Charlie Lee in a coma, we might keep her in that state until her brain goes back to normal." I let out a heavy sigh. This is going to be hard for Machiala.
"Thank you." She nods and leaves the room. My Phone pings and I open the notification.
SHAUN: How is she?
Me: pretty bad, bruised ribs, small fracture in skull... Could've been way worse.
Shaun: I'm sorry, I did turn in the papers. Also, boss said you coming back in a week or two, tell her I said hello.
Me: yes, Shaun. Thanks buddy.
Shaun: no problem.

The week passed by and Machiala was silent. She wouldn't talk to me, nor Tyson. Tyson was released from the hospital about three days ago, Charlie is still under coma. Machiala has gone to her room everyday and tell her to get better.
"Ms.Nanio." I turn around to find the principal and a police officer.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The principal spoke.
"Yes, I need to talk to Machiala."
"Is there a valid a reason? As you can see my daughter isn't in the mood to talk, especially to the father of the girl that almost killed my daughter." He flinches.
"Ms.Naimo, Shiloh testifies that Machiala had beaten her up before, she has a bruise covering her arm..." The officer said, I raised my hand silencing him.
"Why don't you ask her what she did to my daughter, her boyfriend and her best friend. My daughter's friend is in a coma because of a student in the school, my daughter had a fracture in her skull and bruised ribs, don't come complaining to me for a small Bruises in a girl's arm."
"I see." The police officer wrote it down and looked at the fat guy. "That's all, I'm sorry sir, but Ms.Naino has more evidence to her side, Shiloh and the group may be charged for attempt murder." I stare at him with wide eyes, Murder.
My poor baby The principal sighs and shakes his head, but walk out and leaves. I look at Machiala as she slept and smiled. That's my little girl.

"Hailey?" I open my eyes to meet the eyes I haven't seen in 15 years of my life.
"Andy?" He smiles slightly and nods, I sit up and rub my eyes. "Don't you need other dates?"
" today is the last one, up north but I needed to see Machiala." Of course.
"This is a pleasant surprise." He sits next to me. I wrap the blanket around me, hospital reminded me of dead people. I shiver.
"Cold?" I nod. He takes off his jacket and hands it to me. I look at the jacket and then at him. "Take it." I shrug and took the jacket, I slide it on and smile. It was very warm, it smelled like cigarettes and cologne. "Thanks." He smiles. We just stayed in pure silence. Machiala was sleeping, and Andy kept on looking at her.
"She's beautiful." He whispered. "I wish I was there to watch her grow," he said in a voice I could barely hear. "Why didn't you tell me, Hailey? I could've helped you so much for the past fifteen years, and I could've been there for her since the beginning and..."
"Andy." I get his hand and place my other hand on top of it. He looks at me, our eyes locking. "I...." I just shrugged. "I didn't want to hold you back." He frowns. "I couldn't..." He left it that way. His hand never left mine though, soon enough, I was yawning and my head met his shoulder. I wrap the blanket closer to me and wrapped it around his legs.
"You're cold."
"I hate hospitals." He said, then letting out a dry chuckle.
"You're not alone in that one." He smiles and he puts his head on top of mine. I smiled internally, my inner goddess squealing and rolling on the floor, holding her teddy bear. He laces his fingers with mine and kisses the top of my head.
"Go to sleep... I'll wake you up when she does." He whispered. I nod, looked at my... Our sleeping daughter, closing my eyes and drifted away.
