I got my laptop and signed in to Skype, and waited for my daughter to be online.
"Who you gonna chat with?" Ashley asked.
"None of your business... Now go." He shrugs and leaves the bus. A request of Macy showed up and I accepted it... "Macy? Are you okay?!" Her eyeliner was smudged, and her mascara running down her cheeks.
"I'm okay." She said, smiling.
"Hey.. You can tell me." She shakes her head.
"It's just been a bad week."
"Tell me about it..." She shakes her head. "Baby, please, I wanna help you." She looks at me and starts to cry harder. Her door opens and Hailey appears.
"Hey Andy" she said.
Hailey was beautiful.
Her green eyes shined with the computer light, and her lips full and red. Now I know why I had a stand with this woman.
"Hey... What's wrong with her?" I asked.
"She's been having a horrible week in school. Accused of cheating, being called names, people yelling that she should die. People abusing her... It's getting nasty." Machiala cries harder, that I think her breathing stopped every time she took a breath,
"Is there anything the school, can do?"
"Can't do shit.., apparently the girl that is doing this to her is the daughter of the principal... You know how that can get"
I roll my eyes,
" I can imagine it...baby girl, don't believe shit they tell you."
"It was only one day I went in a skirt.." She cried. "And people think I already had sex with Tyson... I'm only fucking 15! I'm not a slut, nor a skank! You love me, and so does my mom.. I know... But I can't stop the voices." I got mad.
Really mad.
My hands curled to fists and I stopped myself from slamming the table. My daughter will not go through many kids go through, No.
"Honey, you never said anything about voices." Hailey said.
"Because I don't want you think that I'm crazy! They repeat everything Shiloh and her stupid gang say!" She cried. "They're too strong... I can't stop them." Hailey wraps her arms over our daughter, and I instantly felt useless...
I need to be with my daughter.
As Machiala cries in Hailey's shirt, I tap on my forearm. Hailey looks at her arms, then her legs and shakes her head.
She was clean.
I sigh in relief.
"Macy... Who's Tyson?" I said, hopefully changing the subject, I couldn't bear to see her cry.
"I met him in your concert, he's my best friend. He's really nice, and he tells Shiloh off. He doesn't give two shits." Her eyes go bright and she smiles, wiping her tears. "We went to a Suicide Silence signing, and he was with me the whole way. I got really nervous meeting the band, because Mitch's songs have helped me... Like I can conquer the world.. Eddie's a really good replacement... He was really nice." I smiled, and she did too. Whoever this Tyson guy was, he was taking care of my baby girl... But if he gets touchy touchy... There's gonna be consequences.
"Has he done anything to you?" She shakes her head.
"Do you like him?" She blushes and nods. Hailey smiles. "Has he asked you out yet?"
"No."
"Good." She giggles.
"You being an overprotective dad already?" She said.
"For you? Of course." She rolls her eyes but smiles.
"ANDY! CALL TIME!" Jinxx yelled as he banged the window. I held out a finger and he nods.
"Who was that?"
"That was Jinxx... I have to go, I'll call you in the middle of the week okay?"
"Alright."
"Take care you two. I love you both." Hailey blushes and Machiala smiles.
"Bye daddy."
"Bye sweetie." She makes a heart with her hands and I take a picture of it. She narrows her eyes and I just laugh. "Good night." And the screen got black.
