Forever Us

“A-Andrew?” I whispered and I felt tears forming in my eyes.

“Skylar?” He responded with the same expression.

“Oh my god…” I said with my eyes the size of the moon.

“What happened…” He said, still staring into my eyes.

“We have to go, Rene!” I said harshly and turned around, fighting against the crowd.

“Skylar!” I heard Andrew yell behind me.

“Nope, I have to go!” Suddenly I felt like I couldn’t breathe with all of the people around me.

“Skylar?” Rene called.

“Fuck.” I mumbled and I felt my knees go shaky and I fell to the ground.



I opened my eyes and instead of seeing the night sky as I thought I would see, or possibly the roof of the car, but I saw the ceiling of a van… a tour van.

“She’s awake!” Andrew’s deep voice sang.

“Shit…” I said and sat up.

“Woah, take it easy.” He said calmly and helped me sit up.

“W-What happened?” I stuttered.

“You passed out so we brought you here…” He said with a small smile. I nodded.

“Skylar, can we talk, please?” He said hesitantly. I panicked.

“Welp, would you look at the time! I’m feeling a lot better, thanks! I guess I’ll be going!” I said and stood up. Oh shit. Bad idea. I fell to the ground from getting up so quickly.

“Oh god.” I heard Andrew laugh.

Suddenly I felt his hands on my waist, pulling me up off of the ground and sitting back down.

“Thanks, I guess. Where’s Rene?” I asked.

Almost as if on call Rene popped in the same room as us, she was perky as ever.

“Yes?” She asked.

“We should go.” I said.


“Why? Aaron doesn’t need to be picked up or anything.” She smiled.

“Aaron?” Andrew asked and his smile faded.

“We need to go.” I repeated.

“Is Aaron your boyfriend?” He asked.

“No, it’s her son.” Rene said before I could say anything. Fuck.

“Your son? How old is he?” He questioned.

“5.” Rene said again.

“Rene!” I shouted. God damn, she was just making this worse.

“Sorry…” She said quietly.

I looked over and Andrew’s eyes were huge, he looked like he was thinking really hard, but looking at the ground all at the same time.

“Rene, could you please go talk to Ash or something.” Andrew said quickly.

I winced as Rene nodded and scampered out of the room.

“So you have a husband?” He hinted slightly.

“No…” I said.

“Boyfriend?” He said.

“Nope.” I looked down.

“Can I meet Aaron, please?” He said with hesitation.

“No…” I repeated.

“Please, Sky. I need to.” He said firmly.

I looked down at the ground for the longest time, thinking. If Aaron met Andrew would either one of them know? What would happen? Does Andrew already know? What will Andrew think? Oh god, I need to answer. But then again, they should probably meet…

“I’ll tell you what,” I started. “I’ll give you my phone number and we can talk later. I need to think.
I’m sorry… I’m sorry for everything…”

“Thank you…” He said, also looking down.

I gave Andrew my phone number, wrangled Rene, then left. After I got home Aaron was already asleep and I paid the babysitter.

I walked into Aaron’s room and he had his sheets pulled over him, he looked so peaceful. I smiled, then walked into my room, put on my pajamas and fell asleep
